APPROVAL OF AGENDA

DELEGATIONS & PETITIONS:
Mike Coates, Operations Superintendent for JDI Woodlands, spoke to council regarding the harvesting job opportunities available within JDI and the best possible ideas to get the job information out to residents in the surrounding Tri-County area. It was suggested he contact the Tri-C Complex to arrange a job fair/open house. Once a date is set, the office will promote the affair on the website and facebook pages.
Bobbi reported the invitations to the previous councils and fire dept chiefs and deputy chiefs for the appreciation dinner are ready to be sent out.
“Vinyl to Bits” is the group hired for the entertainment. Cost is $2500.
The school is booked for the Village’s 50th Celebration show on Nov 9th. Cost for the two days plus 2 classrooms is $800.
Santa has been contacted to appear at the Tree Lighting gathering at the curling club on Dec 3rd.
TMHA voluntarily gave up their charitable status as of July 1, 2016.
Roger reported that the EMO plan has been submitted to Jason Cooling, the Regional Emergency Management Coordinator.
He will be meeting with the Manor and School in the next week to go over their updated EMO plans.
Kirk reported the Water audit with Dept. of Health and Environment went well. The new chlorine barrels (white) from Sussex Farm Supplies need to be certified. The Municipal Drinking Water Contingency Plan needs updated.

Water Billing Rates – The policy for the water billing rates is to be reviewed and revised.

Policing & Dog Control:
Councillor Mersereau:Highway Patrol and RCMP have been out. Transports have been stopped and fined in the school zone.
Water& Sewer:
Councillor Mersereau: Nothing new to report.
Fire Department:
Councillor Bigger: Footing courses were poured today.
The RFQ for the framing and plumbing are going out soon.
J. Clark & Son did the repairs to Unit 5.
Public Works:
Councillor Daley: 0-3/4 crushed rock to be installed at 126 Diamond Sq.
Maintenance on culverts has been completed.
Mersereau St and Maynard Rd have been skimmed with asphalt.

Mayor’s Report:
Mayor Mersereau: Attended the meeting with Cain Insurance.
UMNB – new legislation introduced for the Government/Fiscal Advisory.
An administration meeting is to be scheduled for Monday Oct 3rd at 7pm.
A vehicle hit a lose manhole cover on the 23rd causing damage to the tire and rim. Once a quote for repairs is received, they will forward it to the office.
NEW BUSINESS:
Clean Water & Wastewater Application –“ Moved by Councillor Bigger and Seconded by Councillor Daley to adopt the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund Application for funding of $297,527 for water and wastewater system improvements.” Motion Carried.
Insurance Quotes – Insurance quotes have been received from Cain Insurance at $17,441 and MacDonald Chisholm Trask at $26,777. “ Moved by Councillor Bigger and Seconded by Councillor Mersereau to accept the quote of $17,441 from Cain Insurance.” Motion Carried.
PAYMENT OF BILLS:
“ Moved by Councillor Biggerand Seconded by CouncillorDaleythat the bills be paid as approved by the appropriate Councillor.” Motion Carried.
