PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thanksgiving is here and before you know Christmas will soon be here. We wish to thank Barbara Kelly and all who worked and displayed at the Christmas Market. The show was very successful in sales and participation.
The Callaway Show has been taken down and planning the show for 2016 is under way. We want to thank Bette Schumann and all who helped to make this show a success. It was thrilling to see the response to this show.
A new project involves the Historical Society. The theme will be"All Roads Lead to Newnan.” This will be a transportation series. Subject matter will be horses, trains and trucks. The artwork for this program will be fantastic!
A goal for next year will be to coordinate the activities of the Historical Society, Main Street and the Master Gardeners with our activities. This would be beneficial to all. We will also be working to increase our membership. Just think what an asset that would be to our association. It could lead to more diverse programs and new exciting workshops.
The annual Christmas Party will be held at the art house on December 11 at 7:00 p.m. Everyone needs to bring a dish. The Association will furnish the beverages. We will enjoy both fine food and great fellowship. We will also have installation of our officers.
Your attendance at the next meeting is necessary. Elections for next year’s Officers and Board members will be held. Your vote is important.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
President, Pamela Trued
GUEST SPEAKER – NIKKI BOONE
Art should be a symbol of praise to God, whether it is drawn, painted, digitally mastered, assembled, or sculpted. When I look at art I am drawn to the subjects that bring glory to God and his creation. As displayed in my show, His creation of children and the beach have always been my joy and passion.
Over the years, I have obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in visual arts with a concentration in commercial art. I work with any type of medium - Watercolor, Oil, Gauche, Acrylic, Pastel, Charcoal, Graphite (pencil), graphic design, and photography. I have learned to be flexible within every aspect of the art field.
Since moving to Newnan, GA in August of 2011, I have really been tapping back into my artist roots from teaching to joining the Newnan-Coweta Art Association. Since joining the Association, I was entered in the 8th Annual Juried Member Art Exhibit. At the Carnegie Library I had the privilege to demonstrate the techniques of a landscape. Prior to the demo I was named Newnan’s Artist of the month in January 2014 along with displaying several of my paintings in the City Hall. I have just completed my first large show in Callaway Gardens and will soon be tackling the Masters of Marketing. I am excited for 2015. It will be quite a busy year of learning new ways to promote my business better and that of others.
In the future I hope to become a children’s book illustrator as well as an established portrait artist. Currently I am taking figure drawing from Martin Pate and really refining my human anatomy skills. The current piece I am working on is an oil painting of a series of planes. It is a Delta enthused picture of planes from 6 different companies from OMNI to Virgin Airlines to Delta. The project requires me to work on large canvases of 24x60. Next is a mural entitled "Deltascape" which will be located in a conference room in TechOps. I am so excited to be embarking on this new found subject of planes.
When set in a different location in life you must paint what’s around you. If you are an artist never put down your master medium and always learn from other artist. Together we can paint the future!
OCTOBER’S SPEAKER – JAMES WEISBECKER
Thank you James for a very informative demonstration on computer generated art and the programs used to create them. James explained the process by which he was given concept art and created 3D digital images for gaming programs.

CHRISTMAS MARKET
Our Christmas Market was a big success! This was the 4th year at the Coweta Fairgrounds and the community is getting used to the Market being there. We had 34 vendors earning close to $5,000 in sales.
Special thanks go to Sheri Anderson for running the food tables and to Ellie Farrington and Rusty Sharp for their help. Many thanks to Bruce DeFelix, Ken Hamilton and Cecil Cornwell for transporting, setting up and taking down grids. Also a big thank you to Fred Buyarski for handling grids, money and paper work so efficiently and to Cheryl Hipke for her help as well. And lastly, thank you to all of our members who participated in theShow.
This will be my last year being chairperson of this event. But everything Is documented and I will be more than willing to help in any way I can.
Barbara Kelly

If you can’t make it for the live session, you can watch the recording later. All you need to do is go to the link below to sign up. It is free.
