Design Fees List – e-decorating

These prices are inclusive of GST. No furniture or décor items are included. Check paint colours with testing first.

Clipboard Designs approaches each design project, no matter the size with the same utmost professional practice from our qualified interior designer who is trained to design using computer software.The above interior design fees (inclusive of GST) for electronic documents include the following delivered to your email:

room layout plan
computer generated mood board with images of the selections
pictorial layered perspective of the suggested design scheme
budget itemization list and stockist or supplier list for your items
summary detailing the reasons for each selection.

For example, it will be shown on the design how an oval bath will fit in the design. For the kitchen, it will be indicated whether your bench space will accommodate a 900 mm wide stove top or a600 mm cooktop.

Design Process – “the steps”

GET STARTED ON YOUR INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT – here are the easy steps to a new design scheme for your room or home.

1.Send in your contact details to

plan/sketch with photos to

Your room sketch should include window and door positions, electrical points and any fixed cabinetry/ wall air conditioners. Measurements need to be in metres. Please measure and describe furniture items you wish to retain in the room design.Attach photos of the room or space you wish to upgrade to your email as these would also be helpful.Send to our email links to interior design photos or articles that inspire you from the web or attach from magazines or we can view your Pinterest information for your likes.

3.Clipboard Designs will check all the information and let you know by email if the project can be accepted and undertaken.

4.Before design work begins we require your signed confirmation that you have read and understood our design fees, design process, terms and conditions and privacy policy as stated in this document. We will send you the required document to sign via email.

5.Before commencement of any designs, there will be an invoice requesting 50 percent deposit of the design fees for your project.

6.Clipboarddesigns.com.au will liase with you during the design process by email and send a preview of your plans or moodboard documents before completion of the design work.

7.Final payment will be requested once the design documents have been completed. Payment methods are by PayPal or Direct Bank Transfer after our invoicing. Please do not send us your credit card details. You receive your new designs to your email inbox within 3 weeks from when the project commences subject to any unforeseen circumstances outside our control.

Terms and Conditions (July 2014)

Clipboard Designs provides interior design services via electronic communication or postal service. Communication of design ideas and schemes is preferably done via email although information can be posted to you if preferred.

At this stage we are only providing interior design services to clients residing in Australia.

Our service is limited to providing you with interior design schemes for suggested room decoration ideas, furniture layout or concept single level house plans.

For some projects the process of online interior design will not be suitable or sufficient, depending on the needs of the redecoration or design required, such as for major residential or commercial projects. We will let you know if a project is deemed out of the scope of what we can provide for an online design service.

The cost of our services does not include or pay for any part of the furniture or items selected as that is a separate contract between you and the supplier/retailer.

The items on the mood boards are intended to give an impression of a design look. The schemes designed are for your personal use and not to be used by any professional design company. The designs we send you are yours to keep but are not to be uploaded onto the internet as the images may be subjected to copyright laws. You can email the designs to personal contacts.

Design documents will be sent as a pdf format. Documents will need to be printed by the client from their email inbox. If requested we can send a set of documents to a physical address.

Clipboard Designs will consider each project’s needs according to the stated client budget and the selections list will be decided in the context of the nominated budget for the project.

Clipboard Designs is unable to be personally available to visit your home for onsite meetings. We do not contribute to project management, thus our service is more suited to residential room redecoration or concept floor plans, which can be done without in-house design help.

The client makes the final decision regarding purchases from the selection list we provide and the client is responsible for the purchases and delivery of items.

Clipboard Designs is not making any representations of the quality of furniture and that the consumer is making its own enquiries in relation to the quality and fitness for purpose of the furniture.

It is recommended that for the more expensive items in your suggested design list, you visit the stores or stockists personally to check that you are happy with the items we have suggested before purchasing. In some cases that may not be possible, if they only retail as an online company.

If you decide to purchase the items and are dissatisfied with the items in your home, Clipboard Designs, like any interior designer, cannot guarantee that you will like the final design. For this reason, we are committed to ensuring that our individual design presentations, which are detailed and informative, minimize the chance that you will be unhappy with the results.

Clipboard Designs cannot guarantee that you will be satisfied with the completed designs or furniture and décor selection, as this is very much a subjective area where personal artistic creativity with application of design knowledge is involved in producing the designs.

In our design schemes the selections will be explained in detail as well as with visualization of the schemes in the mood boards. If you are not satisfied with our designs, we can discuss by email, revision of designs which may incur additional cost.

If you are not happy with the items you eventually purchase, unfortunately, we cannot be involved in any return or refund as we do not sell any décor or furniture or purchase for you. The website is not a retail site and does not sell any furniture items or décor items.

If you have narrow hallways, stairs or double storeys please be aware that large furniture may not be suitable unless it can be assembled on site. Be assured that we will be accurate in indicating the items for your space according to your supplied room and existing furniture measurements.

Clipboard Designs does not extend to purchasing, supplying, delivery, assembling or installation of items.

Clients will need to complete some information regarding their proposed project in order to assist Clipboard Designs to commence on the interior designs. Clients will need to supply accurate room measurements. Photos of the existing room will be helpful to visualize the existing layout. We aspire to create designs that suit your brief and be assured that we recognize the importance of accurate layout drawings for your design scheme.

We rely on your own supplied room measurements to work from including the space dimensions, ceiling height, window sizes and door locations and existing furniture measurement of furniture that you plan to keep. Location of power outlets, curtain rods and wall placed air conditioners should be shown on the information you supply to us, which can be done as a sketch diagram. Although this may appear to be time consuming it is essential for the design work to have this information in order to proceed with designing.

Before design work begins, we will send you documents including these terms and conditions as well as the fee information. We require signed confirmation from you, that you have read and understood our terms and conditions as well as the fees and steps in the design process.“No variation of these terms and conditions shall be effective unless it is evidenced in writing and signed on behalf of Clipboard Designs”

Clipboard Designs may not be able to take on extra design work at a particular time when there are a large number of projects. We will endeavour to let you know in a timely manner if there may be a delay in engaging or completing design work. The usual time to complete designs is no more than 3 weeks from when it is agreed that design work will commence and only after the initial 50 percent payment is received.

A part payment of 50 percent of the fee will be needed once you receive confirmation from Clipboard Designs indicating acceptance of the project. Final payment is requested at completion of the designs. Please note the completed designs will not be sent until full payment has been received.

Clipboard Designs is not liable for any damages, directly or indirectly as a result of using the supplied design documents. The drawings are concept only and not construction drawings. Clipboard Designs is not contracted to or engaged in any building or construction of designs for clients.

The colours shown on the moodboards may vary, according to display screen monitor settings. It is recommended that paint colours are tried on a test area before painting a room. The paint colour varies with the natural light in your room and can appear quite different with artificial light.

For projects other than straight forward redecorating, it is essential to check with a licenced builder, building designer, structural engineer, specialist kitchen /bathroom project managers, electrician, cabinet maker and/or plumber who will work on site and advise you on your project in more detail, before any work is commenced.

Our scaled concept floorplans are to provide an impression and should not be used for ordering custom cabinetry or built in appliances. The space should be measured by your specialist cabinetmaker, or building designer who will need to take their own measurements to ensure the best for your project.

We respect your privacy and do not share your details with anyone unless you specifically request us to with your written permission. All information sent to Clipboard Designs is treated with the utmost of confidentiality.

We will not sell or trade your personal information to any individual or third party. It may be necessary to disclose your personal information to other parties within Australia to assist with dealings of Government bodies, if required to do so by law or professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and auditors. We will not disclose your personal information to overseas parties.

All electronic and paper documents are stored securely.

You do not need to supply us with any personal details other than your email and the details required during invoicing. It is essential that you provide a sketch of the room to be decorated for the purpose of accurate scaled drawings. It is optional to provide photographs of the room and these are treated with the same confidentiality.

Clipboard Designs has opted to not accept direct credit card payment for your protection. Payment is to be made via direct bank transfers or PayPal. We do not keep any financial information on file other than what is generated through invoicing via email or PayPal.

If Clipboard Designs is unable to take on your project, we will not keep on file any details sent. Any of your original paper sketches or photos will be returned to you if you have provided us with an address. Alternatively if you do not wish to receive your handwritten sketches back, they will be shredded.

Whilst we have a secure computer system, with antivirus and firewall protection, we cannot guarantee against computer hacking or computer viruses within the wider email system which may affect any computer linked online including ours. We endeavour to monitor such potential hacking activity with the host server Netregistry.

Our email communication will be via a secure login with email system available from netregistry.com.au. which hosts the website.
