CII Naoroji Godrej Centre of Manufacturing Excellence
Workshop on
Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and its impact on Indian Exports/Imports, Anti- Dumping Duty and Safeguard Duty and Future of Incentives.
14 June 2017: Mumbai
Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) play very important role in deciding the market access. Worldwide there are more than 400 FTAs. These agreements increase trade between member nations at preferential or Zero duty. Naturally FTAs enhance regional trade. More comprehensive form of FTA like Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) & Customs Union (like EU) pave way for negotiations on services, investments etc. It is therefore important for any Import/Export organization to understand the FTAs in depth.
Anti-dumping duty & Safeguard duty are duties imposed to stop unfair trade practices & excessive import surge respectively. In turn the domestic market is protected. When the world economies have been recessionary one has to understand implications of Anti-dumping duty & Safeguard duty.
The current WTO rules treat export incentives as prohibited subsidies under the “Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (ASCM)”. For every exporter it is absolutely essential to understand the future of Incentives particularly in light of introduction of GST.
CII has therefore organized this workshop to cover such aspects of international trade. Detailed coverage of which is as under:
