Opening:
The regular meeting of the DV Cal Ripken Youth Baseball was called to order at 7:30 PM on May 6, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Milford by Rich Henn, President.
Present:

A. Approval of Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

G. Board Issues
· Each Major League team will supply a volunteer to the concession stand during the game
o Proposing losing practice time if no volunteers

o 12U requested 4th tryout (5/11 at 5:30PM)
§ 18 need to evaluate
o 9U, 10U, and 11U teams set
o Names on Hats—Circulate email
o Start ordering shirts, pants, belts and socks once 12U teams is set
o Cost per player--$20 if custom hats?
o Rookie Division tournament in Minooka

· Tournament over the Memorial day weekend at DingDel Little League

o Matamoras has given approval to host tournament.

§ Want field to be “Cal Ripken”—Like Angel Stadium
o Application and Deposit submitted to PA state Commissioner

· Umps are catching too much flack
o No website rules
§ Hit batters is not a rule of removing pitcher
§ Minor league rule for hit batters—not this year
§ Coaches and Umpires need common sense—discretion
o Umps need to know rules
o Umps blowing calls
· Rules must be clear—especially with may 1st changes

· Mark Cavallaro suggests a tarp near on-deck batters, to prevent parents from “coaching”
