FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 12th, 2013
New Travel Magazine & Hotel Vendome donate to HIV Charity at 5-star Launch Party in Paris
Girls Guide to Paris ET PLUS and Hotel Vendome located on the famous Place Vendome, will join together with luxury Brands, Perrin Paris, Ann Gerard Parfums, and Cristofle for a Cocktail Launch Party on October 3rd, at the close of Paris Fashion Week, 2013. In honor of Girls’ Guide to Paris’ Launch of their new travel magazine "Girls Guide to Paris ET PLUS", these organizations will join together to support partner charities, Ubuntu Africa and Doctors without Borders to help children with HIV in Africa.
The new e-magazine Girls Guide to Paris ET PLUS is an extension of the travel and lifestyle portal Girls Guide to Paris (.com), which has a devoted fan base of over 100,000 readers monthly, one million yearly. The launch party is not only a celebration of the new digital magazine, but is also an event to raise awareness and funds for two wonderful charities. The luxury brands, Ann Gerard Parfums, Cristofle, and Perrin Paris have each donated an exquisite selection of luxury goodies to raise money for the charity partners via a unique online platform and will be on hand at the festivities.
Girls Guide to Paris ET PLUS’s launch issue features signature travel tips about Paris from “one girlfriend to another” but now editors have added ET PLUS (or “much more”) in each issue. The more in the title refers to the myriad of global destinations that the media brand will be covering beyond their initial destination city, Paris.
The first issue premiered on September 10, 2013 and features several French destinations in glorious detail: Bordeaux, the Loire Valley and Provence, with a side trips to London and New York. Each of the six issues yearly will continue to feature Paris as a theme but will explore other world destinations (Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas) to inspire “Girls’ Guide” readers. The magazine will also offer lush travel photography for i-pad and smartphones, making it a must-have for its devoted audience.
The e-magazine offers a free issue at launch, plus with a minimum $50.00 donation to support the charity, the one-year subscription is offered as a gift.
Yearly annual subscriptions are $19.95.

Doni Belau founder of “Girls’ Guide to Paris” (who is on the Ubuntu board) thought it was the perfect time to join with Whitney Johnson (Founder of Ubuntu Africa) to celebrate as well as raise money for an important cause. Ms. Belau says: “I am so thrilled to have several passions I believe in so strongly, the enriching experience of world travel and the desire it inspires to giveback and make a difference, combining together on the quintessential Place Vendome at this gorgeous five star hotel!”
In 2007, Whitney created Ubuntu Africa in response to her experience volunteering at a South African orphanage, where she saw children die due to lack of basic resources. Ubuntu provides critical care resources and services to over 200 HIV positive children in Khayelitsha, South Africa. (http://ubafrica.org/) Ubuntu works closely with Medicines Sans Frontieres (Doctor’s without Borders) on the ground outside of Cape Town, which is why the launch event and auction will benefit both equally.
