Objective: Division with Two and Three Digit Divisors

Dividing by a 2 – Digit Divisor

1. On average, 7280 people come to Mr. Bob’s pumpkin farm during a fall weekend to take hay rides to the pumpkin patch. If the tractor pulls a wagon that holds 65 customers at a time, how many hay rides does Mr. Bob’s pumpkin farm give during a typical fall weekend?

2. Melick’s Apple Farm collects 4,096 apples from the trees on a daily basis to make apple cider. If it takes the juice from 16 apples to make one quart of apple cider, how many quarts per day of apple cider does Melick’s Apple Farm make? How many gallons per day?

3. During Fright Fest weekends at Freddie’s Corn Maze Madness, they reward the customers who complete the maze with a cider doughnut. If Freddie’s gives out 1,188 doughnuts during a weekend, how many dozen doughnuts were given out?

Dividing by a 3 – Digit Divisor

1. The cafeteria makes 4,565 chicken nuggets to sell during lunch on a daily basis. If the cafeteria serves 415 students, how many chicken nuggets per person does the cafeteria staff plan to serve each student?

2. On French fry Friday, one of the cafeteria workers counted that she cooked 10,790 French fries during the day. If all 415 students order French fries on Friday, how many fries per person did each student receive on their plate?

3. The cafeteria held a ‘pitch a penny’ fundraiser to support the local food bank in the area. Students donated all the pennies they could find in their locker, backpack or at home to the cause. For every 115 pennies collected, the cafeteria would donate a meal voucher to the food bank for people to use at a local restaurant. If 16,675 pennies were collected, how many meal vouchers did the cafeteria donate to the food bank?
