INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS TRAVELLERS TO ITALY

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS do not need a visa to travel to the Schengen Area for business purposes for stays up to 90 days in a 6 months period. Their passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into the Schengen area.

SCHENGEN VISA (BUSINESS)

A business visa allows entry into Italy for a short stay, for business and trade purposes, business proposals and/or closure of business deals, auditing of capital goods acquired or sold for professional development or participation in fairs or exhibitions.

AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTSwho require a visa to enter the Schengen area can apply at the Consulate of Italy in Perth if Italy is the Schengen country where they spend the greatest length of time (most amount of days) during their trip. This type of visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days. The visa will be issued strictly based on the itinerary provided at the interview.Applications cannot be lodged more than 3 months before the date of arrival in the Schengen Area.

In order to lodge an application applicants need tobook appointment for an interview via the online booking system on our website (please book 1 appointment only). At the appointment our visa officers will collect biometric identifiers of the applicants.

At the appointment, applicants must present:

-Visa Application Form

- a valid passport with at least 3 months validity after the visa expiry date (the passport must have a blank page on which the visa will be affixed);

- 1 recent passport-style photo;

- full flight itinerary including border of entry into Italy;

-proof of accommodation (hotel bookings) for the duration of stay in the Schengen Area;

- proof of sufficient means of support for entire stay (current bank balance/statement);

-travel insurance that covers a minimum of 30 000 Euro for emergency medical expenses

- letter from employer confirming employment (stating title and duties), detailing the

purpose of trip, giving the name/s & address/es of the company/ies that will be visited.

If you are self-employed, present the valid business license, and latest tax return pertaining to the business;

- Letter of invitation from an Italian company (please only useForm available here).

Please note that our visa officers reserve the right to request additional documentation to support a visa application.

On the day of the appointment, applicants will pay a visa fee, which is payable only in cash (current price list available on the homepage of the Consulate).

Visas take 14 days to process once a complete application is submitted. We encourage applicants to apply at least one month before their intended date of departure.
