2016 County Cross Country Championships

Date: Saturday, 10-22

Location: Gaithersburg High (Bohrer Park Course)

Course Description: The course will be 5000 meters. The course is mostly flat with only one incline resembling a hill. Two thirds of the course is grass. The athletes can run along side the path for most of the race, which will then leave only 200 meters to be run on pavement. The course won’t be marked until October 20th. However, the course is the same as it’s been for the past several years and you are welcome to come over. If you think you’ll be coming over prior to race day please remember the park is public property and may be in use by other groups.

12:10 9-10 Girls (unlimited) Ribbons

12:50 9-10 Boys (unlimited) Ribbons

1:30 11-12 Girls (unlimited) Ribbons

2:10 11- 12 Boys (unlimited) Ribbons

2:45 Varsity Girls (10 per team) Medals 1-10, ribbons 11-50 – Trophy winning team

3:15 Varsity Boys (10 per team) Medals 1-10, ribbons 11-50 – Trophy winning team

3:45 (approx.) Awards; (hill near team staging area)

ASAP following Varsity Boys race: (County trophies, Division winners, Co individuals will be presented.)

Entries:

Everyone should post their roster on WWW.Athletic.net . The registration deadline is Saturday, October 15 at 11:59 pm. Important: You will need to designate which race the athlete will be running in .Reminder: If you have already posted your roster on Athletic.net, go back over it and delete ALL athletes you do not anticipate running in the meet. All extra names will cost us so please trim your rosters down as much as possible. “When in doubt, leave them out”.

Other Important Items:

1.  Runners will wear numbers with chips in all races. These numbers should be attached to the front of their singlets. Please do not pin through the pulltags at the bottom of the number

2.  Awards will be distributed at the awards program for the top 10 in each varsity race. All other ribbons will be sent to schools..

3.  Starting positions are done alphabetically starting with BCC.

4.  The GHS Booster Club will be selling refreshments throughout the meet. .

5.  Please do not enter any of the buildings on the Summit Hall Farm Park grounds as we do not have a contract for use with them.

6.  Porta-Johns will be set up on the hill near the team area. The bathrooms near the pavilions will also be open. As mentioned above, we do not have use of the rec. center facilities. Keep your athletes away from this area.

7.  Please notify athletes who may be driving that they may be charged a $5.00 entrance fee.

8.  Bring your own pins. We will not have them.
