Pre Camp Planning Checklist

This checklist is designed to assist you with the planning of your camp. Please discuss any concerns with your camp coordinator.

Early planning:

q  Read ‘Planning Your Camp’ document

q  Check the proposed program for your camp and confirm or discuss any changes with your camp coordinator

q  Confirm focus of camp with your camp coordinator and preliminary numbers

q  School permission and medical forms distributed and collected for ALL students and adults

q  Equipment list distributed to ALL students and adults attending camp

q  Students divided into activity groups

q  Students divided into dorm/tent groups (layout plans available)

q  Students divided into duty groups and roster organised

q  Provisioning menu planned with any dietary requirements in mind

q  Evening activities planned

Week before camp:

q  Medical synopsis including ALL students and adults in each group sent back to CFOEC (fax 4982 3298 or email) by MONDAY a week prior to your camp

q  Provisioning menu sent back to CFOEC (fax 4982 3298 or email ) by MONDAY a week prior to your camp

q  Confirm number of students and adults with your camp coordinator

q  Confirm bus bookings and arrival/departure times

q  Confirm off-site bookings (Gemfields, movies etc) if applicable

Bring to camp:

q  Medical forms

q  School sports equipment for free time

q  Equipment for evening activities

q  Students…and their equipment (suggested list next page)

CFOEC Suggested Clothing and Equipment List

Check / Item / Important notes!
To wear / Hat / MANDATORY - Wide brimmed or bucket hat. Bring a spare!
Shorts/Shirts / SunSmart and consider the likely temperatures. Do not bring expensive clothing!
Underwear / Bring some spares
Pyjamas / Strongly recommended
Jeans/Jumpers/Beanie / Seasonal - it can get cold at night in winter
Socks / Socks are good J
Togs/ wet clothes / SunSmart – must have a shirt and shorts over togs during wet activities
Towels / 2 (bath and dam)
Raincoat / Recommended
Shoes / Closed in shoes are required for ALL activity sessions
Wet Shoes / Old sneakers/wet shoes – NOT thongs!
To eat / Cutlery / Knife, fork and spoon
Crockery / PLASTIC plate, bowl and cup
Tea towel / To dry your dishes
Water bottle / No water bottle = no activities. Bring a spare!
To sleep / Sleeping bag/ Blankets/ Swag / Consider likely temperature and weather. Mattresses supplied by CFOEC.
Sheets / Sheets must be on the mattress
Pillow / For comfort
Personal Hygiene / Toiletries bag / Soap, toothbrush & paste, deodorant, etc.
Sunscreen / 30+ or better!
Insect repellent / Recommended
Miscellaneous / Torch / Small one recommended
Camera / Optional. Your responsibility!
Notebook and pencil / Recommended
Smile / ESSENTIAL!!

STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES WITHOUT: broad brimmed hat, sleeved shirt (ie NO SINGLETS), sunscreen, closed in shoes and water bottle.
