CHOIR SONGS FALL 2014

PEACEFUL NIGHT

There’s a star in the sky, in the peaceful sky, shining down, shining down, till the morn is nigh. Through the night, shining bright, how it brings great light, shining down, shining down, through the peaceful night.

On a peaceful night the stars are all twinkling, shining down, oh, shining down, sharing their light. Oh, the brightest of all is peacefully glowing. Shining down, oh shining down this peaceful night.

OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS

Over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house we go, the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through the white and drifted snow. Over the river and through the woods, oh how the wind does blow. It stings the toes, and bites the nose, as over the ground we go.

Over the river and through the woods and to the barnyard gate, we seem to go so very slow, and it’s so hard to wait. Over the river and through the woods, now grandmother’s cap I spy. Hurry for the fun, the pudding’s done. Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.

Over the river and through the woods, we’ll soon be on our way. There’s feasting and fun for ev’ry one, for this is a holiday. Over the river and through the woods, get on my dapple gray. The woods will ring with songs we sing, for this is a holiday. This is a holiday.

Baby of Bethlehem

In a desert far away, joyful tidings on this day

Angels spread the news on high, joyful carols fill the sky

Hear them sing, to the king, little lamb, the baby of Bethlehem

Wise men travel from afar, guided by a shining star

Telling of a wond’rous birth, spreading love and peace on earth

Hear them sing, to the king, little lamb, the baby of Bethlehem

Heavens ring from high above, telling ‘bout this gift of love

Shepherds cross the desert sand, glad hosannas fill the land

Hear them sing (sopranos – Hallelujah) carols ring (sop- Hallelujah)

Little lamb (sop- Hallelujah) the baby of Bethlehem

The baby of Bethlehem (repeat 2 times)
