Phil Ames,CLS, Afton Chemical Customer Technical Support Manager, holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from OldDominionUniversity and Physics from LongwoodUniversity. Phil has 12 years lubricant industry experience with BP and Afton Chemical and will be the Keynote Speaker at the luncheon. He will bespeaking on the topic of “Direction of the Industry” that will offer insight as to how additive technologies will be able to help lubricants deliver and/or enable efficiency gains (fuel economy & equipment efficiency).
Ray Thibault, CLS, OMA I & II MLT I & II and MLA II & III retired fromExxonMobil with 31 years of service in 2001 to form LTC, a lubrication training &consulting company. He has done extensive training and consulting worldwide formany of the leading manufacturing and lubricant companies. He is well known for hislubricant certification class such as Certified Lubrication Specialist, Oil MonitoringAnalyst I & II and Machinery Lubrication Specialist I & II. As acontributing editor forLubrication Management & Technology magazine for the past six years, he writesbimonthly articles on lubrication. He has been the session chairman for LubricantsWorld held at the International Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Conferencesand is an active speaker at many other conferences such as STLE, PredictiveMaintenance, and MARTS. He has worked with local STLE chapters such asOklahoma, Houston, and Chicago as a presenter at their lube schools.
Marianne Duncanson received a degree in Chemical Engineering from WorcesterPolytechnic Institute (affectionately known as Woopie Tech) in Massachusetts. Over 30years experience in various lubrication related positions for Exxon, and nowExxonMobil. Much of this time was spent on the technical hotline. Currently working asa lubrication engineer supporting industry in the Southeast Texas area. Presented paperson foam and air entrainment, oil/water demulsibility, electric motor greasing andindustry best practices at several conferences. Formerly active on STLE OMAcommittee; served on editorial board of STLE magazine, Tribology and Lubrication
Technology. Former Houston Chapter president. Married to a Southwest Airlines pilot. Two grown children.
Walt Huysman, CLS, OMA - As Oil Services Business Development Manager at Trico, he deals with the day to day management of oil analysis customers, conveying Trico's unique Total Lubrication Management (TLM) value proposition with them. His background and knowledge allows him to support Trico's overall growth in oil services through bid proposals and new client opportunities. He has more than 25 years of experience in the lubrication management industry and has worked for Polaris Laboratories, CTC Analytical Services, and Shell Oil Products. He is certified by the Society of Tribology and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) as a Certified Lubricant Specialist (CLS – Certificate #17)) and Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA). In addition he has served as Chairman of the STLE CLS Committee, the OMA Committee, and the STLE Board of Directors. He is also a member of the American Iron and Steel Technologies (AIST).
Greg Livingstone. Chief Marketing Officer for Fluitec. Greg has over 40 published papers on condition monitoring and contamination control. He has held leadership roles in industry organizations such as past-Chair of ASTM’s Turbine Oil Analysis and Problem Solving Committee, and past-Chair of STLE’s Wind Energy Tribology Technical Committee. He currently provides regular technical content to STLE’s Power Generation Committee in the form of articles and podcasts and is the Lubrication Blogger for Turbomachinery.
John Cummings is Vice President of Product Technology of Hydrotex, a specialty lubricant and chemicalcompany founded in 1936. He directs product research and development, technical services and training. Previously, Captain Cummins served in the U.S. Navy and Active and Inactive Naval Reserve for 36 years. His active and reserve assignments include: USS Lawrence DDG-4, Bureau of Naval Personnel, USSParsons DDG-33, Navy White House Liaison Officer, NavyFinanceCenter, Navy Cargo HandlingBattalion Nine, Chief of Staff-Logistics Navy Cargo Handling Force, Desert Storm, and Chief of StaffNavy Expeditionary Logistics Support Force.
From 1980 to1997, he held various operational and technical positions with The Lubrizol Corporation. Hewas Vice President of LS&T, Inc. a Lubrizol subsidiary and a senior national and international accountmanager in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Joining Hydrotex in 1997, he became a Certified Lubrication Specialist. He is a member of Society ofTribologists and Lubrication Engineers, Society Automotive Engineers and the National Lubricating Grease
Institute.Born in 1949, he is married to Sherry Sullivan and has four children, Jack, Hunter, Daniel and Lisa. Hishobbies include golf, gardening and gourmet cooking.
Tom Cook, STLE Certified OMA I, CLS, Sales Manager of Southwestern Controlsincluding Fluid Solutions Division, has enjoyed his career in Fluid Power (Hydraulics,Pneumatics, Hydrostatic and Hydrodynamic Filtration) since Graduation fromUniversity of Missouri, St. Louis. Tom has held positions including Sales Engineer, KeyAccount Mgr, Branch Manager, National Distributor Manager and Sales Manager atMoehlenpah Engineering, Hydraquip Corporation, PTI Technologies and SouthwesternControls. He has worked in the Americas in key industries including Aerospace,Construction Equipment, Forest Products, Power Generation, Mining, Oil and GasExploration and Drilling, Petrochemical Mfg. and Lubricant Blending.
