Pistoia Alliance Chemical Safety Library Quick Reference Guide

  1. Submitting a Reaction to the CSL
  2. Login to the CSL with your userid and password
  3. Click the Submit Reaction to the Pistoia Alliance Chemical Safety Library button
  4. Fill in at minimum the required fields (marked with a *)
  5. Reporter
  6. Click the Search button, type in your last name and click Search
  7. Click the Select button for the result that matches your name
  8. Source
  9. Click the Source dropdown and make a selection (if the desired selection is not available, send a message to the admin to have it added)
  10. Reaction Class
  11. Click the dropdown for Reaction Class and make a selection
  12. If your selection is not availble, click New, type in a new value in the text box and click Save Changes (it should then be available from the dropdown)
  13. Functional Group
  14. Click the dropdown for Functional Group and make a selection
  15. If your selection is not availble, click New, type in a new value in the text box and click Save Changes (it should then be available from the dropdown)
  16. GHS Category
  17. Click the appropriate checkbox(es) (if the desired selection is not available, send a message to the admin to have it added)
  18. Scale with unit
  19. Type in the scale of the reaction in the text box
  20. DOI Link
  21. Type comments in the text box
  22. Enter the link in the URL body box
  23. Warning Message
  24. Type the warning message in the text box
  25. Additional Information
  26. Type any additional information in the text box
  27. Click the Save Changes button
  28. Add the Reaction Reagents
  29. Click the Add button and select Incident Reagent
  30. Click the Search button, type in the name of the reagent and click Search

Note: you may also search by CAS#, MFCD# or InChi

Note: if your reagent is not found try searching by synonyms or CAS#

  1. Cick the Select button for the desired reagent and click the Save Changes button
  2. If your reagent is not found, close the search window and click the New button
  3. Enter in as many details about the reagent as possible, click the Save Changes button, close the reagent window and click the Save Changes button again
  4. Repeat steps i, ii, and iii for each reagent
