Description of service:
Grote Farm Tech Service’s will provide a range of technical support for farmers and small agriculture businesses. The service will teach the customers how to run and operate their farm programs and any computer oriented machines efficiently that they are not familiar with in order to make their farms/businesses more successful.
Intended customers’ Needs:
Because the world is developing and evolving technological in every sector, including agriculture, programs, GPS, and field monitors have become more prominent and necessary in order to make a farm or small agriculture business prosperous. These programs make farming more precise and enable famers to have detailed outputs of crops, land, necessary management, and more appropriate business models. My service will enable these business owners and farmers to learn these programs conveniently and allow them to understand them completely so they can fully utilize all of their features. My business would have skilled employees from the computer field that are knowledgably in the programs that we offer assistant with. Overall it will make for less hassle and frustration for owners of these programs.
Why this service creates value:
My service would create convenience for owners of these programs and monitors because we would have convenient business hours. It would create for better time management in the long run for the farmer/business owner if they were taught how to run their programs correctly because they would not spend a lot of extra time pushing buttons and getting frustrated trying to figure out how to get the program or monitor to do what they want it to. This service would bring farmers and business owners that are not highly educated up to speed with the technology before them as well.
Why is this Service Different from Others Already Available in the Market:
This service is unique because there is not a current service to my knowledge that exists quit like it. It encompasses several different programs that the customer would have. They would be able to learn how to run nearly all of their programs and monitors from one company that would come to them or be on a local area basis verse talking on a phone to the specific programs company and have them or a computer operated help person on the phone try to teach them how to fix or run the program.
Possible Size of Market/Opportunities for growth:
Currently just about every farm process performed in the fields throughout the year has a monitor to guide them or to track their process. Several agriculture businesses that provide these services have programs to record, compute, and analyze the farmer’s data which they use in their business to further sale their products and services. Technology will continue to advance at a rapid pace; more monitors and programs will be created for different farming tasks. With this certainty there will always be new programs and monitors that farmers and other agricultural people will have to learn in order to keep up with technology and to keep their farms and businesses successful. Because of this I think there will always be a need for my business and it will continue to grow at the same pace that technology advances in the agriculture sector. I would provide my service across the state via telephone and try to keep my at home visits to a reasonable radius, approximately two hours.
How will I financially Support my business:
Start up costs would not be an extreme amount. More loans and/or investments would be needed to advance and grow the business. I would be able to finance half of the startup costs and would inquire a bank loan for the additional funds needed. As the business begins, and the customer basis is set based on the quality of our service and what it has to offer, the initial costs will be made back quickly and the business will become self sufficient.
Who am I, and What Skills do I have:
I am Theresa Grote, I believe I have the drive, dedication and managerial skills that will benefit my business. I am well organized and am always willing to put extra time into something that I believe in and needs to be done. I feel I work well with others and would explore other people’s views in order to make this service even more successful.
What kind of Skills I am seeking in an Entrepreneurial Team:
I am looking for team members that have the same qualities and skills as me as well as more to further benefit my project. I am looking for hard working members that are willing to put the time and effort into the project and have the ending result be fully complete and full of quality. Also, members should be familiar with computer programs needed to complete this project. Most of all, members must be creative and work well with others.
