VACANCY:LABORATORY COMPLIANCE OFFICER

This vacancy is for applicants from the designated groups, in accordance with the university’s Employment Equity programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical tests, for example titrations
  • Verify raw data
  • Perform method checks for each analytical procedure
  • Know and adhere to the quality system
  • Train new personnel on specific analytical techniques or procedures
  • Guide/help other personnel in the laboratory
  • Other tasks

Minimum requirements:

  • Applicable degree or diploma in analytical chemistry with 2 years relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical analytical Laboratory OR Matric(Mathematics and science at least 40%)with four years relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical analytical Laboratory

Other competency requirements

  • Proven knowledge of the applicable analytical techniques, for example titrations, TLC
  • Proven knowledge on the in-house quality system
  • Proven knowledge on “Good laboratory practices” (“GLP”)
  • Understanding and correctly executing analytical methods
  • Adhere to in-house quality system by following SOP’s (“Standard operating procedures”)
  • Recognising deviations and analytical errors
  • Ability to do pharmaceutical calculations
  • Ability to do specialised pharmaceutical calculations in order to prepare solutions with set molarity or normality; percentagecalculations; basic statistics(average,SD and %RSD);and equivalence calculations,etc.
  • Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
