Role of Dispatchers

Our dispatchers will monitor and coordinate real-time traffic conditions on the GDOT interstates and adjacent expressways to our operators/drivers as well as ensure all data points reported by our operators are updated and synched into WebEoc, Navigator, IRS and sureFleet (see Software). We envision the role of dispatchers as the eyes, ears and glue for the RAM program.

The following are examples of essential duties related to the position:

·  Be the liaison between IncidentClear’s operators, IncidentClear management, GDOT (TMC & district offices) as well as State and local officials

·  Ensure the proper resources and operator are dispatched to an incident and work with GDOT to inform the motoring public regarding real-time traffic information

·  Work with GDOT to provide the motoring public with an alternate route of travel (if desired), and help mitigate the impacts of traffic congestion

·  Develop strategies and integrate data via IncidentClear’s IRS software system, GDOT’s Navigator, and WebEOC software for managing incident data and ensuring that proper traffic incident information is placed and is accurate in all systems

o  Keep track and verify drivers hours(IRS)

o  Co-ordinate daily and weekly incidents for GDOT stats

o  Track and maintain maintenance logs for equipment (sureFleet)

o  Work with portfolio of Ford dealerships on service and preventative maintenance schedules

·  Maintain any operator DOT paperwork and filings dailyand update to IncidentClear’s cloud-based database

·  Monitor information relating to real-time traffic conditions on the applicable and adjacent roadways and providing updates to GDOT and IncidentClear operators as needed

·  Help GDOT in any way possible with any assignments

·  Be in constant communication with operators on roadway conditions

·  Maintain weekly driver scheduling and to maintain spare drivers accordingly

·  Develop strategies, through the TIMS software, for managing incidents, ensures that proper incident information is placed on IRS, and communicates incident status to the IncidentClear, GDOT and State Police

·  Determine the impact of incidents and sends critical incident notifications to GDOT and affected Traffic Management Centers as well as 511 centers

·  Monitors video being viewed by shared agencies and ensures the appropriate use of these images

·  Performs diagnostics on equipment located in the Operations Center and communicates with Authority personnel to correct all equipment problems.

·  Generates reports as directed by IncidentClear management, GDOT and 511 centers

DISPATCHER QUALIFICATIONS:

·  High School graduate or GED

·  Pass drug test and background check

·  Prior experience in traffic operations preferred

·  Knowledge of the GDOT roadway system, CAD operations and computer operations.

·  The ability to type forty (40) words per minute and pass a written test.

·  Demonstrable ability to read a map, demonstrable logic skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Each dispatcher will need to communicate with GDOT’s Dispatch Operation, State and local Police, IncidentClear operators, TMCs, and our management.
