Henny is a graduate of Queen's Law '92 and was called to the Bar in February, 1994.
Henny joined the Law Society of Upper Canada as Counsel, Practice Review in January, 2008. In this position, he travels throughout Ontario to review, assess and report on the professional competence of lawyers who are in private practice and who have been called to bar for less than eight years.
Previously, Henny worked for over five years with Legal Aid Ontario and was the Supervisor of Family Duty Counsel Services for Frontenac County. Before that he was in private practice, both in small firm settings and, for a period of time, as a sole practitioner. His practice has been largely focused on litigation matters that include family and criminal law.
Henny has always had interest in legal education and has been very involved in the legal profession. Henny has been a presenter and panellist at a number of CPD events over the years. He has been an instructor and assessor for the Law Society's Bar Admission Course; he taught Civil Litigation at St. Lawrence College for seven years; and has been a sessional lecturer with the Faculty of Law at Queen's University teaching appellate advocacy. Henny has been an east region council member with the Ontario Bar Association; and for three years was a member of the Barrister Advisory Group at the Law Society, a group which oversees the substantive competencies of the Barrister portion of the lawyer licensing exam. He is also a past president of the Frontenac Law Association having also sat on various committees with the association.

Rimpal joined the Law Society in the Spot Audit department in 2001 as a Spot Auditor. Over the last 14 years, he has conducted hundreds of audits of lawyers’ practices throughout Ontario. Such audits are part of the Law Society’s quality assurance programs and include an assessment of compliance with By-Law 9 and a review lawyers’ books and records, private mortgage files, and estate files. Spot Auditors provide guidance and instruction to lawyers to assist them in complying with the Law Society’s By-Laws and Rules of Professional Conduct.
In January of 2014 Rimpal joined the Spot Audit management team, however he continues to conduct some audits in Northern Ontario.
Rimpal is keenly interested in professional development and has developed course content and has presented in numerous Law Society programs focussed on books and records and financial risk management. He has also taught courses in Finance with the CGA and Continuing Education Department at Ryerson University.
