Leaf awards rules

  1. The competition is open to advertising agencies, production companies and photographers from anywhere in the world. All poster, press and TV advertising produced or exposed since Jan 1st, 2004 are eligible as entries.

Entries can participate only once.

  1. The deadline for receipt of entries is 30th September 2006
  2. The purpose of the competition is to reward outstanding creativity in advertising with erotic content. Entries will be judged on the originality of the creative ideas, erotism and on the quality of their production values.
  3. A single Best of Show Leaf Awardwill be attributed to the overall winner of the competition. Category winners, for film and print will also be named and finalists certificates will be awarded to other high-scoring entries. For the purpose of identifying winners and finalists a single award and/or certificate will be attributed to individual entries that form part of the same campaign.
  4. Category winners and finalists will be determined by a numerical scoring system. Best of Show will be chosen from the category winners. It will be attributed by majority vote of the entire jury through a process of progressive elimination.
  5. In the designation of category winners, judges will abstain from voting for their own country. Their scores will be equal to the average of the other judges scores.
  6. The decision of the judges is final and awards may be withheld at the discretion of the jury.
  7. Each company participating in the competition must correctly complete a Summary Form and an Entry Form must be correctly completed for each entry. Instructions shown on the summary
  8. A Summary Form and an Entry Form are included together within the rules of the competition.
  9. All print entries (press ads and posters)must be submitted on CD-ROM (TIFF or JPEG, 300dpi PC format), plus actual ad or digital print.
  10. All film (TV/WEB) entries must be submitted on individual DVD or videocassette VHS (Pal Format). Entries may be submitted on the same DVD/videocassette, but should be presented in the order they are to be judged. Individual TV film entries may not exceed 180 seconds.
  11. The organisers reserve the right to change the categories selected by entrants if they consider that the category chosen is incorrect and to ensure that all entries on a common theme are judged together.
  12. Each company taking part in the awards will pay a basic registration fee of 230 Euros
  13. The entry fee of each film or print execution is 120 Euros. This applies to each execution whether the entrant wishes it judged individually or as a part of a campaign.
  14. Entries must be accompanied by a confirmation of a bank transfer for the appropriate amount.
  15. The organisers will not be held responsible for lost material or for any import or delivery charges.
  16. Material entered in the competition will not be returned and will be donated to the AdvertisingMuseum in Lisbon, when no longer required.
  17. All winners and finalists agree to provide the organisers, upon request, with print-quality material illustrating their film, print and other entries for publication and exhibition purposes.
  18. All entrants authorise the organisers, to copy, scan, digitalise and otherwise duplicate their entries whatever form and to use such material for exhibitions, screenings, publications, broadcasts, CD ROM and Internet presentations in order to promote the LEAF awards and to propagate the results of the competition. Under no circumstances shall the organisers, or their authorised representatives, be held responsible for the payment of royalties or other charges in connection with the aforementioned activities. Each entrant agrees to hold the organisers, or the authorised representatives, harmless against any claims concerning the material in this respect.
