Newsletter March 2017

St. Columba’s BNS Parents Association

We hope you enjoyed the mid-term break. This is the March edition of our newsletter which has lots of important information for you to take note of.

Second Hand Uniform Shop

We will be having our LAST UNIFORM SHOPfor the foreseeable future, on FRIDAY MARCH 31st. We have a selection of good quality second hand uniforms at fantastic prices. Come along and have a look. The shop will be open from 8.40am to 9.15am and is in Room 20 (in the prefabs behind the main school building, as before). Due to the construction of our new school, you can access the Uniform Shop by going through the school hall, past the Junior Infant classes and out through the door to the prefabs. Room 20 is down near the end of that group of prefabs. We hope to have another Uniform Shop in September 2017.

Red Day February 17th

A BIG THANK YOU to all the boys and parents for getting involved in Red Day. It was a great start to the Mid-Term. All funds raised will support our boys school.

We are organising Anti-bullying workshops for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class (during school time) with a Parent Talk on the evening ofTuesday March 21st at 7pm. Graffiti Day Friday April 7th

We plan to have a Graffiti Day for the boys on Friday April 7th. It will give the boys a chance to leave their mark on their old school before it is demolished. They can bring their own markers or chalk and we will also supply some materials for them to use. We would ask that all boys wear old clothes on the day and we would appreciate if each pupil would donate €1 towards the new school fund.Date to be confirmed.

Open Day for Past Pupils and the Local Community

We hope to have an Open Day on Sunday April 9th between 12pm and 2pm. It is an opportunity for past pupils of St Columba’s Boys School and the local community to have a look around the old school before it is demolished around April 18th and to see the construction that has started as part of our new school. Date and time to be confirmed.
