POSITION: / Program Coordinator (Tech Hire Grant)/ Instructor, Computer Information Systems (CIS)
Job Duties: / Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Dean for Business and Public Service Technologies, the Program Coordinator/Instructor is responsible carrying out the program deliverables for the Tech Hire Grant, U. S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. The $3,670,000 grant award include the following: hiring of personnel, professional staff development, equipment purchases and renovating space for new labs. In addition to curriculum development and designing state of the art computer labs that will cater to the following programs: Business Analytics, Transportation Management Systems, Cyber Security, Software Programming & Development, Health Information Systems, Network Administration, and Database Administration, the Program/Coordinator will work closely with Dean and the Director of Sponsored Programs to ensure that the grant deliverables are met are in compliance with grant obligations. PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Works in conjunction with existing and new faculty members in meeting grant objectives. Network with grant partners and other program related businesses to enhance the current advisory committee with a focus on high wage/high growth IT jobs. REPORTING OF OUTCOMES: In conjunction with the IR, Admissions, Career Placement, and other offices, ensures that Enrollment, Graduation and Job Placement data are tracked and reported quarterly.
This position will lead a team of faculty members and develop an on-going training in industry trends and new technologies with a minimum of teaching responsibilities. Applicant must be able to select and assess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: / Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field is required. Degree must be from a regionally accredited private or public postsecondary institution. Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of the institution’s accrediting agencies and state and/or national licensing boards. Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years. Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the computer information system instructional program. Expertise in the content being taught and knowledge of curriculum design and educational strategies. Must be adept at multi-tasking, prompt follow up and adapting to and embracing change. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential or related to the computer information systems field.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: / PHD preferred. Work experience in the Information security and Computer fields. Experience in an academic setting, BANNER System, and Blackboard learning management system. Experience with computer programming, databases and networking. Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and Security + required. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) certifications desirable. Linux Certified System Administrator, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) highly desirable, CCNA Security and other higher level security certifications desirable.
Computer forensics analysis, cloud certifications also desirable.
WORK SCHEDULE: / Schedule - Monday – Friday 8 hours daily
SALARY: / Salary Range Annually $70,000 to $74,000 – TECH HIRE GRANT
