Description of Services:
Advantage Point Learning was formed with the singular goal of providing excellence in the delivery of basic academic skills instruction. Put simply, we offer the finest reading and math tutoring programs available anywhere. We’re so confident that we even guarantee our student’s success! At Advantage Point Learning we know that every student is a unique individual, with individual needs. Accordingly, we custom tailor our curriculum and lessons to each student we serve. In this manner, our students achieve the maximum results in the minimum amount of time. In fact, our students average nearly two grade levels of improvement after just 40 learning sessions! Students typically attend 2-4 learning sessions per week, after school. Our instructors tutor a maximum of three students at one time, with each student working on their own individualized lesson. All work is completed during the learning session and no homework is ever assigned.
The heart of the Advantage Point Learning program is our Academic eXcellence Instructional System (AXIS™) which consists of 4 parts:
- Identify Needs
- Individualize Solutions
- Incentivize Students
- Inform Adults
Today, Advantage Point Learning continues to make a huge, positive difference in the lives of hundreds of students each and every year through our three education divisions:
- Community Learning Centers
- Public School Programs
- Distance Learning
In the brief period that No Child Left Behind has been in effect, we have witnessed tremendous academic growth in the children who have attended our after-school tutoring programs in Oregon public schools. Our highly focused, diagnostic, and prescriptive instruction works especially well for these students.

Catapult Online, continued
Description of Services
Catapult Online offers live, individualized, web-based tutoring through its easy to use, online classroom. Catapult Online is unique because it provides real 1:1 conversations in real time over the Internet using special technology that allows the student and instructor to have a two way verbal dialogue using a special headset connected to the computer - much like using a telephone.
Catapult Online’s individualized, direct instruction is appropriate for students attending grades 3-12 AND functioning at instructional levels 2-8 in math or 3-9 in reading. Students receive instruction in either reading or mathematics. Catapult Online’s instructional sessions are 60 minutes in length. Parents select their child’s sessions each week. There are several Catapult Online sessions available each weekday and afternoon and evening, as well as, Saturday morning to provide for ultimate ease of schedule.
While in the online classroom, each teacher begins the instructional session by choosing and loading the appropriate skill level lesson depending upon the individual student’s person learning plan. Both the student and teacher simultaneously participate in each instructional lesson while logged into the online classroom, viewing each other’s actions as they progress. The experience mirrors instructional that takes place while sitting together in the same room and yet students tend to be more open and willing to participate while in the online classroom.
For Catapult Online services delivered at home, we will supply all needed hardware. Each enrolled student will be shipped (free of charge) a personal computer and will use this computer to participate in tutoring sessions. Included in the package is: a central processing unit (CPU), a 15” monitor, a headset, a mouse and/or digital writing tablet and free dial up connectivity to the Internet for the duration of the program. Students’ homes need to be equipped with a working electrical outlet, a working landline phone (cell phones do not qualify) and a work surface on which to place the computer.
Students may earn the right to keep their computer by completing the full program(as determined by the LEA/provider agreement). In some cases, Catapult Online may also provide students with self-paced/self-study content that will reinforce the skills mastered during sessions and increase carryover to the classroom and to life.

AUGUST 2005
Grade Levels: 1-12
Content Areas: Math and Reading
Description of Services:
Education Station’s goal is to partner with families, schools, and community faith-based organizations to deliver high quality supplemental services programs in a convenient time and place for parents. Education Station’s small group direct instruction is available for students in grades 1-12 who are functioning at instructional levels 1-8.5. Students will receive either reading or mathematics instruction. Our programs are generally delivered at school sites, after the regular school day. Most students will receive two or more, 60-minute sessions each week. Small groups consist of 6-12 students to every one instructor.
Education Station seeks to deliver supplemental services programs in locations that possess as many of the following characteristics as possible: familiarity to parents, convenience, critical mass of eligible students, great leadership and a favorable operating environment. We have found that students’ schools frequently possess these characteristics and are highly likely to be our best prospective sties. In the case that we cannot deliver services at the student’s school, we partner with local community organizations to provide locations for our supplemental services programs.
