On Motion of Mr. Roberts, Seconded by Mr. Lagasse , the Following Resolution Was Offered

On motion of Mr. Roberts, seconded by Mr. Lagasse, the following resolution was offered:

RESOLUTION NO. 120292

A resolution calling a special Council Meeting and motioning for a hearing to be set and heard by the Jefferson Parish Council to determine whether Patrick Pierson, Hunley Dufour Jr., William Boada Sr., Mary Snowden and Simone Scanio should be removed from the Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish for neglect of duty and to provide for related matters. (Parishwide)

WHEREAS, Patrick Pierson, Hunley Dufour Jr., William Boada Sr., Mary Snowden and Simone Scanio received notice of removal due to neglect of duty on December 14, 2012; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with La. R.S. 40:537, Patrick Pierson, Hunley Dufour Jr., William Boada Sr., Mary Snowden and Simone Scanio filed for a hearing to be held by the Parish Council to determine if the removal should be upheld; and

WHEREAS, a special Council Meeting must be set for that purpose.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Jefferson Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Jefferson, Louisiana, hereby resolves:

SECTION 1. That a special Council Meeting and hearing date be set on March 1, 2013 at 10:00 am in the West Bank Council Chambers to determine whether the removal of Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish Commissioners Patrick Pierson, Hunley Dufour Jr., William Boada Sr., Mary Snowden and Simone Scanio should be upheld and to provide for related matters.

SECTION 2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent via certified mail, return receipt requested to Mr. Steven K. Faulkner, Jr. at 2021 Hickory Avenue, Harahan, LA 70123; Patrick Pierson at 3300 Wall Boulevard, Apartment 17-D, Gretna, LA 70056; Hunley Dufour, Jr. at 716 Avenue G, Marrero, LA 70072; William H. Boada, Sr. at 4162 Manhattan Boulevard, Harvey, LA 70058; Mary Snowden at 1726 Julie Street, Marrero, LA 70072; and Simone Scanio at 918 Evergreen Dr., Gretna, LA 70053.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
