JOB SUMMARY
The San Francisco Symphony is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative-minded Graphic Production Artist to join our Creative team. Reporting to the Art Director and working alongside a team of designers, copywriters and project managers, the Graphic Production Artist’s core responsibilities include the production of a wide range of collateral, including web, digital, print and out-of-home. The Graphic Production Artist will effectively adhere to established creative guidelines for sub-brands and seasonal campaigns to ensure consistency across all platforms. We work in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a candidate that can hit the ground running and effortlessly juggle multiple projects. Applicants with a passion and background in music will be given prime consideration.
DESIGN PRODUCTION (85%)
· Design and produce marketing materials
o Implement design direction outlined in creative briefs
o Ensure accuracy of all materials, implementing all edits captured in our proofing mechanism as directed by the Project Managers
o Edit photography as needed
· Maintain the integrity of the Symphony brand, ensuring consistency of marketing materials across all channels and deliverables
· Implement and adhere to established brand guidelines for a range of campaigns and sub-brands
DESIGN CONCEPTING (15%)
· Working alongside the Art Director and Graphic Designer, assist in the conceptualization of formats and production methods, along with the look and feel of new campaigns, adhereing to strategic direction outlined in the creative brief
OTHER
· Maintain the organization of art files on network files
· Oversee print production, as needed
· Regularly attend SFS concerts and events
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Qualified candidates will be skilled in the following areas of graphic design:
o Artwork, collateral, and print production
o Artwork resizing and photo editing
o Familiar with branding and following style guides
· Minimum 1-3 years working experience
· Advertising production experience a plus
· Experience in Adobe Creative Suite
· Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Knowledge of printing and prepress standards a plus
· Solid sense of design, layout, color, and typography
· Strong understanding of creating information hierarchy through typography
· Excellent proofreading skills
· Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
· Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
· Must thrive in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to juggle many projects and requests
· Must be able to take art direction and work under pressure while managing time effectively
· Ability to work in a team environment, yet can handle the production process with minimal supervision to get excellent results
· Portfolio required.
