Disclaimer

ACPET will not be held responsible for the reproduction of marketing material that does not adhere to any specifications outlined within this document.

Terms and Conditions

The Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) welcomes advertising in its publication, The ACPET Journal for Private Higher Education, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. All submitted advertising is subject to review and approval by ACPET and the ACPET Journal Editorial Board which reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertising at any time, without explanation for such action.
  2. ACPET reserves the right to refuse any advertisement that is considered unethical, makes extravagant claims, misrepresents, is unfair or harmful to other advertisers; violates Australian law and regulations; or is deemed inconsistent with the mission, objectives and values of ACPET or the Journal.
  • Advertisement must be non-discriminatory. Any advertisement that discriminates based on sex, age, race, religion, marital status, or disability will not be accepted.
  • Advertising should be factual and designed to provide useful product or service information. Advertising shall not contain any information, statement, graphics, or general impression that may appear in any way to be untrue, fraudulent, false, deceptive, or misleading.
  • If and when an advertisement is found unsuitable for publication or inclusion, the advertiser will be so advised. To avoid rejection of any given advertisement, ACPET may request, at its sole discretion, that the advertisement be revised if deemed necessary.
  1. All advertisements must clearly and prominently identify the advertiser by trademark or signature.
  2. Advertising is separate from the content of the Journal. Advertisers and sponsors have no advance knowledge of the editorial content, nor does the Journal Editor shape content to accommodate advertising. Advertisers do not influence any editorial decisions or advertising policies.
  3. The appearance of advertising in the Journal is neither a guarantee nor an endorsement by ACPET of the product, service, or claims made in such advertising, nor is ACPET responsible for the content of any advertisement published in the Journal.
  4. Any reference to ACPET or its services in advertisements, promotional material, or merchandising by the advertiser is subject to prior written approval from ACPET for such use.
  5. The advertiser agrees to indemnify and protect ACPET from any claims or expenses resulting from the advertiser's unauthorised use of any name, photograph, sketch, art or words protected by copyright or registered trademark or registered trade name.
  6. ACPET cannot guarantee fixed positioning of an advertisement in the Journal.

ACPET is not responsible for any damages, including but not limited to actual, direct, incidental or consequential damages, for errors in displaying an advertisement.

  1. ACPET may change these terms and conditions at any time, provided that no such change applies to advertisements whose closing date precedes the announcement of the change.
  2. It is the responsibility of the advertiser or advertising agent to notify ACPET immediately of any error as soon as it appears otherwise ACPET accepts no responsibility for republishing such advertisements.
  3. In the event of non payment, ACPET reserves the right to hold the advertiser and/or its advertising agency liable for such monies as are due and payable to ACPET.
