Role Overview:
CSIRO Mineral Resources are looking to appoint a project leader to work within CSIRO’s On-Line Analysis (OLA) group at the Lucas Heights laboratory located in southern Sydney. The OLA group targets the research, development and implementation of online analysers for measurement of ore composition and other key process indicators in the minerals industry.
The OLA group will grow in the next 6-12 months to meet key strategic goals, including the expansion of an Ore Sorting team. A specific objective over the next three years is to take an existing advanced prototype magnetic resonance analyser through to commercialisation stage. The analyser is the first of its type in the world, and enables the implementation of bulk ore sorting in selected high tonnage mining applications. The commercialisation will involve a series of major technology trials. The engineering sub-team will take the lead in organising the planned major trails, located both domestically and overseas.
As the structure of the sub-team is new it is expected that the Project Leader – Field Trials will work closely with the existing Ore-Sorting Team Leader to finalise the sub-team structure. The Project Leader will also work closely with the Ore Sorting Team Leader to assign tasks to team members.
The Project Leader will combine their technical background with a hands-on approach to solving practical problems, both technical and managerial.
Significant periods of work offsite will be required.

·  Work with the other CSIRO technical teams to ensure the designed system meets the specifications of the client sites and in-house QA.
·  Write associated technical documents e.g. site implementation plans, basic user manuals, and service manuals.
·  Oversee the deployment of CSIRO technology on site and integration with other technology.
·  Communicate effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s reputation.
