2016 AGJA Western Regional
Gelbvieh Rush
Rapid City, South Dakota
Dear AGJA Member and Family,
We want to extend a special invitation to you to participate in the 2016 AGJA Western Regional in Rapid City, South Dakota on the weekend of June 10-12. This event will be held at the Central States Fairgrounds, 800 San Francisco Street, Rapid City. Enclosed is detailed information about the plans for the weekend event and we hope that you are able to attend.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Grand Gateway Hotel under the following group name: AGJA or Gelbvieh/Lori Maude. The blockwill be released after June 6, 2016. You may call (605) 342-8853 to reserve your room. Room rate is $104.25 per night plus tax. The hotel is located at 1721 N LaCrosse St, Rapid City, SD.
Participant registration information is enclosed in this packet. Please complete the Entry Form and return to them along with your entry fees to Janice Volek by May 15, 2016.
We will be providing bedding for your animals. Please bring your own hay. Please bring generators if you have them.
Note: No dogs are permitted on the grounds and NO ALCOHOL at the event. Also, check with your veterinarian and make sure to bring proper health papers with you. Western South Dakota is a brand area, so if you are traveling out of a registered brand area make sure you have the proper brand papers. If you are coming from an area without brand regulations, you won’t need anything to travel into Rapid City; however you will need a clearance to travel home out of a brand area. We will have a brand inspector available to write those clearance papers.
We will offer several AGJA contests to promote good cattle production and leadership. Juniors, enter as many or all you want. We encourage you to challenge yourself and try a new contest. Rules are enclosed and for more contest information you may visit under the Juniors tab and then AGJA Events.
Cattle can enter the grounds after Noon on Friday and need to be in place by 8a.m. Saturday. If you wish to arrive early or stay after, contact Lori Maude for arrangements.
We have so many things that we want to do during this event, but are trying to find the time to get it all done. More than anything, we hope your family joins us for a great weekend of great fellowship with great Gelbvieh friends!
We hope to see many of you in Rapid City!!!
