Weather Related & other Time Adjustments

Background:

For delays, early dismissals and inclement weather dayscalled for staff, please follow the following payroll procedures. Weather related time adjustments will be given to all Full-time/permanent staff (minimum of 30 hours per week). Adjustments will only be made for staff who report to work on the day of the adjustment.

Procedure:

Delay:

All employees who are scheduled to work on the day of a delay shall receive anadjustment equal to the hourly amount of the delay. Employees are asked to adjust their schedule for the delay. For example: For a two hour delay, if an employee arrives to work normally at 7:30, that employee should report to work at 9:30.

If an employee needs to arrive to work earlier than the delayed reporting time, that employee will need supervisor approval. This would be the same process if this same employee in the example above needed to report at 5:30 instead of 7:30 on a particular day. For employees who are required to still report at the regular time (for example custodians), they should modify their schedule at the end of the day. Approval would be required for that employee to not modify their day.

Early Dismissal:

All employees who are scheduled to work on the day of an early dismissal shall receive an adjustment for their time relative to their assignment to make their day whole. Specific instructions on the specific time adjustments will be determined and sent by the central office to the schools.

Inclement Weather Leave Day (IWLD):

Inclement weather leave days are calendar student days changed for inclement weather and not made up by students. These are days beyond the annual leave days built into the school calendar. For student days that are called off due to inclement weather and will not be made up by students, these days will be treated as a IWLD. On an IWLD an employee can use any type of leave that would be allowed on an optional teacher workday.(Annual, personal, sick, compensatory time, or no pay).
