SPORTS CENTRE ASSISTANT
Job Title:Sports Centre Assistant
Responsible to:Sports Centre Manager
Hours:
Monday – Fridays 0500-0800
Every other Saturday
Saturday0530-1800
Hourly Rate:£8.00
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be employed as a Sports Centre Assistant under the direction of the Sports Centre Manager.
- Your primary role is to ensure that the Swimming Pool and Sports Centre is available and in good order for use by staff, pupils, parents, Plymouth Leander, OPMs, outside lets etc. In this role the following must be done.
- Lifeguard Duties
You are to operate as Lifeguard for the following:
a)Families and OPMs
b)Boarders
c)Plymouth Leander Swimming Sessions (Secondary response)
d)Group sessions during College holidays.
- Plant Room(training will be provided)
Manual pool testing three times a day and recording.
Back washed, when necessary.
Air and water should be recorded and set at the recommended setting.
General upkeep of the Plant Room i.e. cleaning of all equipment, and correct storage required.
HTH and Sulphuric Acid and flux levels are maintained
- Swimming Pool Maintenance
Area and pool sides to be scrubbed down
Pool Hoover put in and taken out before and after sessions
Changing Rooms to be clear of all left property i.e. clothing and bags
o/c of evening Changing Rooms and toilets swept and mopped out.
- Foyer
To be hovered twice daily at 1600 hours and at the completion of shift. (Classroom as required).
- Sports Hall
All rubbish removed and disposed of, goal posts and crickets nets secured and all equipment stowed correctly.
- Cardio Vascular Suite
All weights and bars stowed correctly
- Fitness Conditioning Suite
All machines cleaned and checked any defaults recorded. Before and on completion of shift all machines must be switched off.
- Maintenance
Any defects to be reported to the Sports Centre Manager.
- Security
The Sports Centre must be operated at all times. If for any reason you have to leave the office, you must inform Plymouth Leander staff and outsider users know of your whereabouts. A note must be left on the Sports Centre Office door advising that you are away from your post for a period of time. Astro Pitch inspections are to be carried out and all areas checked ensuring that all sports facilities are correct, light to the Astro is off and Area not in use. On completion of shift – rounds to be carried out checking that all areas are secured.
