Additional BC Admission Information: Advanced Placement Examinations and International Baccalaureate credits are also available. Applications of Mathematics 12, Communications12, and Challenge subjects are not acceptable. Calculus 12/Calculus AP (AB or BC) is required for programs with the Calculus prerequisite. Pre-Calculus 12 is not acceptable for programs with the Calculus prerequisite.

Minimum Averages: Competitive averages range from low 80’s to 90’s depending on the program of interest. Applicants are evaluated and admitted on the basis of grades as well as supplementary information as provided on our Personal Statement of Experience (PSE) – mandatory for all applicants to submit.

LAURIER University

Basic Admission Requirements – Four academic courses, including English 12 at a minimum of 60%. All prerequisite courses must be at the 11 or 12 level and be part of the core curriculum. Program specific requirements for BC applicants can be found at www.chooselaurier.ca/outofprovince

Acceptable Courses: We will accept many 12 level courses expect certain Physical Education, Drama, Music & Art courses, as well as certain non-academic social studies.

Minimum Admissions Average: The minimum average for consideration to all Laurier programs is 70%. Competitive entry programs and double degree programs will require a higher admission average which can be found in the out of province brochure. Final cut-off averages will be set in May, 2014.

Application Deadline: May 1, 2014- although students are encouraged to apply and submit documents earlier as decisions will be mad on a rolling basis.

Reporting of Grades: Grades can be sent electronically through OUAC however they may not arrive in time for consideration. Applicants are strongly encouraged to send grades by mail or e-mail to or by fax to 510-884-0618 for conditional offers. All final transcripts must be sent as a hard copy directly from the issuing institution or the BC Ministry of Education. Self-reported grades my also be used for conditional offers.

McMaster University

Basic Admissions Requirements: Please see Admissions Chart in middle of viewbook or visit: future.mcmaster.ca/admission/ for a searchable admissions database. Minimum requirement is 4 Grade 12 academic courses one of which must be English 12 or First People English 12. The provincial examination in English 12 or First Peoples English is mandatory. A blended grade of the school and provincial examinations is used for English 12 in calculating the admissions average.

Minimum Admissions Requirements: Admission averages vary by program and estimated ranges can be found in the Admissions Chart in the viewbook. Please note that we do not admit students presenting an admissions average below 75%.

Applications Deadline: April 1, 2014 is deadline for application and English proficiency documentation (if applicable), however it is recommended students apply as early as possible, as all programs are limited and we will stop making offers of admission once a program is considered full. Some programs have an application deadline of February 1, 2014 as noted in Admissions Chart in viewbook.

Basic Admissions Requirements: Senior Secondary School diploma; a minimum of 4 Grade 12 academic courses; including program specific prerequisite courses with a minimum of 70% overall final average. Program specific prerequisite courses may be found on pages 46-47 of the 2014 Viewbook. Limited enrolment programs include: Nursing, Music, and Visual Arts.

Minimum Admissions Average: 70% for open enrolment programs

>70% for limited enrolment programs in which the demand for places by qualified applicants exceeds the supply of available spaces.

Reporting of Grades: BC high school student midterm (May) and final (July) grades are submitted electronically to Lakehead via the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). Students will need to provide authorization to the Ministry of Education, Skills & Training in BC to release their academic record to the OUAC.

To be Consdered for Early Admission: students should ensure that an official hardcopy transcript of their grades is sent directly to the Office of Admissions at Lakehead University as soon as the first Grade 12 grades are available

AP Credit Information: Applicants who have achieved a minimum grade of 4 on the placement exam may be eligible to receive advanced standing credits.

Nations de la C.B.12. These courses will be considered by Western based on the final grade as it appears on the transcript.
