Attachments

The following attachments are required for your application. Without any of these, your application will be invalid.

  • a certified copy of the university diploma (with apostille)
  • if the university diploma is not in English, an official English translation is required together with the certified copy
  • a CV in English (in Europass format)
  • supporting letters from two instructor-researchers from the University of Pécs MedicalSchool who are holders of the PhD degree (or other scientific degree equal to the PhD degree), in which they certify the applicant’s aptitude
  • an individual study and research schedule approved by a Hungarian supervisor
  • copy of a Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) certificate(or other equal certificate) that proves the applicant is at least on a B2 (vantage or upper intermediate) level in English
  • Important information: if your previous high school and/or university education was conducted in English then you pass this criterion automatically. In this case you need to provide a certified copy of your high school/university diploma.

Guidelines and information for the Application form

I. Important: sending the application form filled with all the necessary information and attachments does not guarantee your enrollment to the PhD program.

II. Please use block capital letters to fill out the application form.

III. Diploma information: your university diploma has to be a master’s diploma; students with bachelor’s degree cannot apply for the PhD program.

IV.Information about the “Contact information for diploma verification” section: we ask you to include contact information of a person who is authorized by your previous institution to check and verify the authenticity of your diploma. We reserve the right to check the authenticity of your university diploma in case it is needed.

V.Information about Europass CV: we ask for a Europass CV solely for the purpose to better understand your previous achievements and education. A common CV interface also helps us to speed up the application process, making the decisions about enrollment faster.

VI.Information about the supporting letters from two instructor-researchers from the UniversityofPécs Medical School:The subject area or program leadersconcerned need to declare whether the applicant is admitted and the scientific workpertaining to the subject area is supported. For these supporting letters the applicant needs to contact the program leaders of their future subject area. For the list of doctoral schools, programs and their leaders, please visit

VII. Application fee and admission procedure fee: the application fee is 200USD (United States Dollar). The application fee has to be paid the same time you send in this application form.The admission procedure fee is 250 USD (United States Dollar); this fee only has to be paid when you are selected for the admission interview and you will attend the interview.Both payments have to be made to the following account:

A copy of the transfer of the application fee has to be attached to the application form while the copy of the admission procedure fee has to be sent to our office (also bring a copy with you to the admission interview in case if needed).

VIII. Information about the individual study and research schedule: Foreign citizens are entitled toparticipate in the doctoral program according to confirmed individual study andresearch schedules, under the supervision of his/her Hungarian supervisor. The schedule must include the doctoral school and program in which the student participates, a brief description of the field of study and the goals of research. The study schedule must be approved by the chosen Hungarian supervisor.

IX. If your application and admission interview are successful, you have to pay a tuition fee to start your PhD studies. The tuition fee for each semester is 6000 USD (United States Dollar). The tuition fee has to be paid before the start of each semester. The PhD studies consist of 4 academic years (8 semesters).
