Installing VMware:
Pc requirements to can run VMware without problem:
Processor:
· 1.3GHz or faster core speed
Ram:
· The minimum memory required on the host system is 1GB. 2GB and above is recommended.
· To support Windows 7 Aero graphics in a virtual machine, at least 3GB of host system memory is required. 1GB of memory is allocated to the guest operating system and 256MB is allocated to graphics memory.
Hard Disk Drive:
· At least 1GB free disk space is recommended for each guest operating system and the application software used with it.
· For basic installation, 1.5GB free disk space is required on Windows and Linux.
Installing VMware step by step:
At first put installation driver to your pc, then follow steps:
1- Double click on setup or install .exe file.
2- This window is appearing click on next.
3- Accept with license agreement and click next.
4- Choose typical.
5- If you want change the location and partition otherwise click on next.
6- Uncheck the check box and click on next.
7- Uncheck the check box and click on next.
8- If you don’t want to add a shortcut to desktop uncheck first check box then click on next.
9- Click on continue and wait till it complete.
10- If you have serial number or product key enter here and click on continue, else click on skip an active program later.
11- Here installation is finish click on the finish.
Installing windows server 2012 R2:
For installing windows server 2012 on your pc at first you need VMware virtualization program to run windows server on your personal computer (PC), and your computer must have some good properties like processor, RAM, storage device … etc.
PC requirements for installing windows server R2:
At first we must create virtual machine:
Creating virtual machine:
1. Open VMware and click on create new virtual machine.
2. Use custom and click next.
3. Click on next.
4. Choose I will install the operating system later.
5. Choose windows server 2012 and click on next.
6. Here if you want set virtual machine name and location then click on next.
7. Click on next.
8. Choose number of core processor as 4 and click on next.
9. Click on next.
10. Choose use bridge networking.
11. Click on next.
12. Click on next.
13. Here you can choose your desk, choose create new virtual disk.
14. Here choose store virtual disk as single file, and you can modify disk size , but remember that you need 60 GB as minimum.
15. Here you can modify disk name and location, then click on next.
16. Here by click on customize hardware you can see full detail about your virtual machine.
17. By clicking on finish this window is appear, it is mean that your virtual machine is ready to use.
Now we start installing windows server 212 R2:
1- Open VMware.
2- Open your windows server 2012.
3- Click on CD/DVD (SATA).
4- Choose Use ISO image file then borrows for your windows server file in your computer then click open then ok.
Note: your setup file must be in .iso extension.
5- Click on power of this virtual machine.
Note: If you get an error message and your virtual machine not turned on, you must go to the bios setup, in advance tab enable the virtualization technology.
6- Wait till your machine is turned on and this window appeared then click on next.
7- If its first time you install the windows server click on install now , if you install windows server previously and not worked correctly click on repair.
8- Choose the version you want then click on next.
9- Accept and next.
10- If you have windows server 2008 or lower and you want to upgrade it to 2012 click on upgrade, if you don’t have windows server or you want re install it click on custom.
11- If you don’t have partition, click on new and create a partition.
12- Choose the partition and click on next.
13- Wait till installing process is completed.
14- Now you must set a password for administrator or for login, your password must contain upper case, lowercase, long length and number.
15- After you set password click on blue arrow.
