The acceptance of this invitation carries with it the responsibility ofdaily presence in both group discussions and hands-on practice sessions.During the week, the hours spent doing "multiple therapist" work astherapeutic/facilitative participant on the table as the recipient of thework, and as a contributor to the group discussions serve to create acohesiveness and bonding of the group which is not easily duplicated underany other circumstances.

Toward this end your presence and participation are crucial to the finaloutcome of the week. All participants are strongly encouraged to stay atthe meeting facility, and in some cases it is mandatory. From the airport (about 24 miles): Start going toward the Airport Exit onGrant McConachie Way and go 2.2 miles. Grant McConachie Way becomes ArthurLaingBridge and go .1 miles. The airport is approximately 35-40 minutes from the retreat center.

About RosemaryHeights Retreat Centre

RosemaryHeights is located on 30 acres of forested grandeur on the banks ofthe NikomekiRiver, in south Surrey, about 21.7 miles south of downtownVancouver and 5 miles north of the US border.

Trails on the property wind through tall pine, balsam, cedar and fir treeswhile sword ferns and sphagnum moss provide ground cover. Along one of thetrails, you can meditate on the "stations of the cross". The surroundingwoods are home to a family of deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels,hummingbirds and numerous other bird families.

Fruit and vegetable farms grow and sell crops nearby and provide someabundant road-side stands in seasonal times. A shopping mall is about 1mile south of the facility on 152nd Street and includes a large grocerystore, an office supply store, clothing stores and wine and coffee shops.Two gas stations are 2.5 miles north of the facility at the firstintersection of Hwy. 10. The Pacific Ocean and beaches are about 3 milessouth of the facility with a wide variety of restaurants, some with patiosoverlooking the ocean.

Accommodations

RosemaryHeights has single accommodations with shared bathrooms. The costis $500.00 USD dollars per person with breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.This includes dinner on Sunday night ending with breakfast on the followingSaturday morning. If there are any special dietary needs, please let theEducational Services department know at least 2 weeks in advance. RosemaryHeights will try to accommodate special dietary needs. RosemaryHeightsdoes not take reservations for our group, you must contact The UpledgerInstitute at 561 622-4334 or 800 233-5880 for reservations.

Meals

The cafeteria is the only place to eat meals. Health and fire regulationsprevent cooking of any kind on any other part of the property. Cold snacksand refreshments are okay but must be properly stored at night. Mr. Bugwould love a midnight snack. Food served in the cafeteria must stay in thecafeteria.

Policies

RosemaryHeights has a gate at the entrance to keep overnight campers in andunwanted vehicles off the property. The gate is open from 7:00am to 10:00pmeach day. If you come in before or after these hours, make sure the gate issecurely shut after you. The caretakers are available in the main buildinguntil 10:00pm at night. After 10:00pm, please do not disturb them unlessyou have a (911) emergency. The caretakers do security checks in theevening and they wear a safety vest for easy identification.

Smoking is not allowed in any building. Ashtrays and garbage cans have beenprovided outside for your convenience, please, please use them. Our familyof deer does not like ashes with their cereal.

The management of RosemaryHeights does not allow burning of any material inany part of the retreat centre. This includes burning of candles, incense,paper, etc.

Class will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day. Due to the unique nature of thecourse, classes tend to run well into the evening. We recommend that youplan on being available in the event that the course runs late, and makeyour travel plans accordingly. We will usually finish the course on the lastevening with a group dinner. Previous participants have found that allowingtime for relaxing and processing after the course is extremely beneficial.

If you will be late for the workshop, please contact us immediately.Attendance at this seminar indicates your acceptance of our currentpolicies, procedures and code of ethics. This information is available at on-site at the seminar, or in advance by contacting us at1-800-233-5880. We recommend you bring a sweater or light jacket and wearloose, comfortable clothing.

Because your involvement is so important, if you become unable to attend thecourse within 30 days of Monday June 22, 2009, your registration will besubject to a $500 non-refundable, non-transferable penalty. Please planyour schedule accordingly.

During the course of the workshop some of the techniques practiced mayrequire the use of gloves. We will supply latex gloves for use at theclass, however, if you are latex sensitive please bring a box of analternate material.

We will be happy to celebrate your completion of Advanced I by including agroup photograph of your Advanced class in our next UI newsletter. Pleasesubmit a focused picture (and identify the participants and their positionin the photo) to the UI office if you would like the class picturedisplayed.
