To inform all K-8 Center, middle and high school principals, assistant principals, and teachers about the application process for mathematics and science teachers to participate in the 2016 FCR-STEMLearn Program.
The Department of Mathematics and Science is providing all K-8 Center, middle and high school principals, assistant principals, and teachers with information about the application process for middle and high school level mathematics and science teachers to participate in the 2016 FCR-STEMLearn Program.
- The Florida Center for Research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (FCR-STEM) at Florida State University (FSU) invites teachers to apply for participation in the 2016 FCR-STEMLearn Program being offered to Florida’s mathematics and science teachers (see attachment for program details) in the South Florida Region.
The PD includes a 70 hour face-to-face summer institute over two non-consecutive weeks. Participation in the FCR-STEMLearn program includes participation in the evaluation of the program, which will involve the completion of several questionnaires and assessments as well as post-tests and selecting lessons that will be used in the classroom.
Satisfactory attendance at the professional development includes full-time attendance for all nine (9) days and completion of all assignments stated above. Arriving or leaving late (15 minutes or more) and/or missing a day or more will forfeit the participant’s eligibility to receive master plan points (MPP).
All PD attendees who complete all program requirements will receive a $1,000.00 stipend.
