JOB TITLE: Graduate Management Trainee - Agriculture

2. JOB PURPOSE
An excellent developmental role, for an ambitious graduate, to gain a range of experience, knowledge and skills in Moy Park, through a series of clearly defined roles specifically focused within the Agriculture function. Typically, you will take on up to four different roles over a two year programme (changing approximately every six months) – these could be anywhere within the agriculture area, and may be Hatchery based, or operationally based.
There will be opportunity to enhance and add value to the overall performance in this important area of the business. This is very much a hands-on role with specific deliverables throughout the training period, offering responsibility, accountability and challenge as well as career development.
Through time, individual performance & achievement of set KPI indicators, trainees should target progression to a field officer / Hatchery Management / Planning or training role.

4. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development programme will include:
·  Specific role(s) and training in the associated job specific skills – typically will aim to incorporate different group roles to ensure a breadth of experience.
·  Project work, one per placement.
·  Secondments across the Agriculture division, including NI and GB.
·  Mentoring.
·  Supervisory Management training including – Recruitment Skills, Counselling & Disciplinary, Leadership, Performance Management
·  Technical training E.g. HACCP, Advanced Food Hygiene, Welfare Training (primary sites) etc.
·  Quarterly reviews to ensure personal development needs are met.
·  Providing technical assistance to a group of farmers / in a hatchery environment.
·  Giving technical advice on growing chickens or producing hatching eggs.
·  Business improvement idea generation and implementation.
·  All aspects of hatchery management including egg handling, incubation and chick despatch.
·  When working in a hatchery the GMT will be required to work on a night and weekend rota, accommodation is provided on site (depending on site).
·  To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the process and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. waste reduction, recycling etc.
5. MEASURABLE OUTPUTS
These will be specific to the placement roles; will include one fully completed, presented project per assignment.

·  Degree in an Agriculture related discipline.

·  Completion of industrial placement in an Agriculture role.
7.  HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
·  Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions.
·  Work in a safe manner and observe the Company Health and Safety Rules and Procedures.
·  Use the protective clothing and equipment provided.
·  Cooperate with Managers and other personnel of the Company to achieve a healthy and safe workplace environment.
·  Help in the investigation of accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
·  Observe the Company personal hygiene requirements.
·  Set an example of safe, correct behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.
·  Report any hazard / defect you may observe promptly to your immediate line manager.
·  Report any shortcomings in systems of work or procedures to your line manager.
·  Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare or yourselves or your work colleagues.
·  Any H&S risks seen on a farm must be reported immediately to the farmer and to your Line Manager. Following this, the appropriate reports should be copied in writing to both the farmer and your line manager.
·  To comply with safe systems of work at all times.
·  To advise managers when not trained for tasks you are being asked to carry out.
·  Any employee breaching employee health and safety responsibilities will be liable for investigation which may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Company’s disciplinary policy.
