FROM COMMANDER GARY “BUCK” FIEGEL – Things are starting to slow down a little, so now we will focus on membership. Our goal is to be a “Quota Post” this year. In order to do that, we need your help. After Veteran’s Day, I am asking for volunteers to go out knocking on doors to remind our people that their 2012 membership renewal is due. In most cases, this is all it takes. We all have a tendency to put it off and then forget about it. We take care of it when we get that little reminder.
We are looking for help from everyone to update our records with your phone numbers and current addresses. E-mail addresses would also be appreciated. If you know of anyone with a change of address or who has switched from a landline phone to cell phone, please contact us, so we can update our records. Our biggest concern is with our active duty military members. Most of the addresses we have are incorrect. If you have a son or daughter or know any other active duty member and can give us a correct address, please do so as soon as possible. You can email us at , or just jot it down on a piece of paper and drop it off at the Post, or call us at 419-238-5266. Any help is greatly appreciated. We do not want to lose touch with our Active Duty members. We are going to start a “WHERE ARE THEY NOW?” column in the newsletter, and if you know the correct address for anyone listed, please let us know.
I want to thank all of our advertisers both in the newsletter and in our Lima News Veteran’s Day ad for their help and support. I urge all of our members to patronize these advertisers and tell them Thank you. They support us, let’s support them!
I hate to be negative, but the attendance at our Breakfast Buffets is poor. We cannot continue to lose money at the rate we are. If attendance does not improve with the November and December Buffets, we will most likely be forced to cancel them in the future.
FROM 1st VICE KEN SCHUTZ– Renew online at . It is very quick and easy to do it this way, and they accept credit cards. You can mail in your renewals, come into the Post and pay any officer, or give your renewal payment to the bartenders. Membership is at 82%. Keep the renewals coming in. Our post is in the 2nd District of Ohio, and we are in competition with 4th District for the Brown Jug. They don’t think we should have it 45 years in a row, BUT 2nd District is currently in FIRST PLACE with membership
