MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
  • Board approved minutes from Aug. 11, 2014 monthly meeting
  • Motion: Phil Downey

  1. PRESIDENT’S REPORT
  • Reminder - annual HOA meeting Oct. 11th at SenoiaUnitedMethodistChurch.
  • Ballots being sent out to all homeowners, need to be sent back in if resident cannot attend meeting.
  • Take notice of other area neighborhoods, those who do not have an HOA and see the noticeable, positive difference having an HOA makes.
  1. VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT/GROUNDS REPORT
  2. Robert Crane will be coming to the neighborhood for tree removal. Estimates to be done on the Friday prior to event.
  3. Weeds on the bridge will be removed this Wednesday by Bob Fant.
  4. Trees being planted at entrance to Phase 2.
  5. Pine straw event likely at the beginning of October.
  6. Beware of pinestraw scam, like the one that occured a couple of months ago. If Frederick White comes to your home, ask them to please leave. (Even if they tell you the HOA will fine you if you don't.)
  7. Marv would like the board's approval to plant pansies; she will plant them.
  8. Bids to trim overgrowth on bridge: ArborValley (Daniel is contact) best bid; Dwayne moves to table this until next meeting until fence is ready to go up in September.
  9. Dwayne asked how long we will allow signage to be out - perhaps 30 days?
  10. It was noted ArborValley did good work on grass cutting at retention pond.
  1. TREASURER’S REPORT
  • Bills paid.
  • Amount in bank account: $41,427.53
  • Fencing was a big expense.

  1. MAINTENANCE REPORT
  2. $1,200 deposit for fencing. Total will be $1,436.
  3. Dwayne took pictures of broken sidewalks. Trucks are hitting curb and damaging sidewalks when picking up debris.

  2. Site up and running
  3. Creating Facebook page for site
  4. New directory coming out in January
  5. Sending communication about debris on the road.

VIII.NEW BUSINESS

  • Jeff Lindsey sign was finally taken down.
  • Halloween Committee: Jessica, Emily, Liz - event the Sat. before Halloween, 5-7 p.m. Deligate cul-de-sac (Ivy Court); potluck, Costume/Jack-o-lantern contests. Have gift card for the winner -- $100 budget for.
  • SAFETY ISSUE: In Phase II, steel rods are sticking up near a transformer, near in the long cul-de-sac. Dwayne will call EMC.
  • Phase II (365 Ivy Lane) there is an oil stain. Idea brought up to use community washer to take care of it.
  • Speed bumps -- once it goes in they can't apply for federal money to repave streets.
  • Look into solar signs
  • Discussed getting large group to go to the city. Mayor Larry Owens will be at the annual meeting.
