Crime Prevention Fishing Funday – Sunday 12th June – Kingfisher Pools
On Sunday 12th June 2016 Warwickshire Police Safer Neighbourhood Teams in conjunction with Stratford District Council’s Rural Crime Co-ordinators will be hosting a Crime Prevention Fishing Fun Day at Kingfisher Pools, Myton Fields in Warwick.
The aim of the event is to provide children and their families the chance to experience the joys of angling on this purpose built pool under the tuition of volunteer angling instructors from the Junior Angling Committee. In addition Police and Rural Crime Co-ordinators will be on hand to provide Crime Prevention advice on home, personal, vehicle and equipment security.
The Junior Angling committee, which is represented by volunteer members from the local angling community will also be celebrating their anniversary on that day and this event will provide an opportunity for the club to showcase their wonderful lake and increase their membership numbers. In addition, the Junior Angling Committee will be looking to add to its ‘pool’ of volunteer angling instructors who provide fishing ‘taster’ sessions on various weekends throughout the season. Please visit for further details.
These free sessions will run for 2 hours and will provide an opportunity for families to enjoy the UK’s most popular sport. These sessions are primarily aimed at those children who have either no or very little fishing experience. The sessions will run from 10:00am to 12pm, and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Tesco’s community project team has kindly provided a buffet lunch.
All fishing equipment is provided and E.A. licenses are not required. Free car parking close to the lake is provided at Myton Fields Car Park.
Toilet facilities have kindly been provided by the 2nd Warwick Sea Scouts.
Places are limited to a maximum of 15 per session so please book early to avoid disappointment. If demand is high we will look to run another event later in the season.
Please note parents/carers will need to remain throughout the event and special dietary needs cannot be catered for.
