27th annual Paint the Town event

150 volunteers completing neighborhood improvements in South Oak Park!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2016

SACRAMENTO, CA—NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region will hold our 27th annual Paint the Town event on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on 39th Street and 43rd Street in South Oak Park (See map below for locations of 2016 Paint the Town Projects.). Over the last 26 years, NeighborWorks Sacramento has completed painting and home improvement projects on more than 320 homes throughout North and South Sacramento, tapping into tens of thousands of hours of support from volunteers!

The day will be full of activity as more than150 volunteers work together to give a face-lift to Oak Park. We’ll be completing more than 10 home improvement projects, including painting homes, landscaping yards, painting and fixing fences and completing home repairs.

2016 sponsors, in-kind donorsand volunteers include: County Supervisor Phil Serna, Dist. 1 and U.S. Bank (premier sponsors) and Broadway Coffee, Circle K International,Glidden Paint, Holt of California, Home Depot Foundation, Sacramento State University Community Engagement Center, Luigi’s Pizza, MAR (Mujeres Ayudando La Razo), McGeorge School of LawUniversity of the Pacific, Nicoletti, Culjis and Herberger Funeral Home, Republic Services and South Sacramento Rotary.

County Supervisors Phil Serna will be out volunteering at Paint the Town. County Supervisor Serna has made a generous donation to support Paint the Town; this support has allowed NeighborWorks Sacramento to expand the scope of our projects for 2016.

The Paint the Town partnership between NeighborWorks®Sacramento, local businesses and volunteers has been an overwhelming success. Several of our sponsoring teams have participated in Paint the Town for more than 20 years. Everyone wins through this program. Paint the Town increases pride of ownership for residents and strengthens the neighborhood and connection between individuals and community. “Paint the Town brings resources to those who need them most and is a shining example of the positive impact on neighborhoods and residents when people give back to their community,” says Pam Canada, CEO.
