It’s a New Year & a New You! Activity Calendar

Sunday / Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday
The goal for this calendar is to complete 20 of the 28 activities. Every time you complete an activity, have a parent initial the box. When the calendar is complete (20 or more activities), turn it into your P.E. teacher to receive an incentive for improving your fitness to start 2017. You must turn in the completed form by Friday, February 3, 2017. NEW YEARS DAY! / NO SCHOOL / Toss a ball with a family member for at least 10 minutes. / See if you can hold a push-up plank for 30 seconds, try it 3 times. / Move like a bird. Fly high, low, fast, slow. Hop on the ground to get from place to place.
/ Lay on your back and bicycle kick for 30 seconds, try it 3 times. / Spell your first name and last name using your body to make the letters.

Use a box or a basket as a target, toss a sock ball into the target. How many tosses in a row? / Think of an animal and travel like that animal for 1 minute. / Use sidewalk chalk to make a hopscotch pattern, play for 10 minutes. / Go through your PE stretching routine with a family member. / Find a ball that bounces and dribble it with your hand 20 times with each hand. / Try to complete 50 jumping jacks with a family member. / Balance on one foot for 30 seconds, try the other foot.

Hop on one foot 20 times, then switch to the other foot. / Choose five animals you like, take turns pretending that you are moving like each animal. / Pick your favorite music and come up with your own dance to the tune. / Walk on your toes into every room in your home. Have a family member join in the fun. / Ball up a plastic grocery bag and soccer juggle it on your legs for 5 minutes. / Ball up a plastic grocery bag and toss and catch with a friend or family member. / Go for a walk with a family member for 10 minutes.

Imaginary jump rope for 10 minutes. / Bear walk to 3 different locations in your house. / Complete as many jumping jacks as you can in 1 minute, how many can you do in 2 minutes? / Play hide and go seek with a family member or friend. / Ball up a plastic bag and soccer juggle it as many times as you can in 2 minutes. / During a commercial break, see how many jumping jacks you can do. / NO technology Saturday!
