1Purpose & Scope

The aim of this routine is to describe the definition and handling of Critical, Significant and Inspection Characteristics ("Special Characteristics") that are specified in the requirement documents.

For Husqvarna Group internal guideline: “Special Characteristics – R&D Appliance”.

2Symbols and verification requirements

Special characteristics are specified in requirement documentations with a symbol.

The applicable symbols are placed close to the affected requirements and announce that there are requirements of verification and inspection.

2.1Critical Characteristic

Symbol:

Manufacturing monitoring and verification requirements:

For purchased parts: Incoming inspection (Skip Lot)

Manufacturing:100% inspection.

Control:Yes, documenting 100% of the results.

Capability:If applicable, in PPAP submission Cpk according to QAP, Quality Assurance Process.

Inspection Results are to be documented with traceability according to section Documentation Requirements.

in this document (or Gardena 101002).

2.2Significant Characteristics

Symbol:

Manufacturing monitoring and verification requirements:

Manufacturing:First & last piece inspection or sampling inspection.

Control:SPC, Statistical Process Control, or other traceable verification method (certificates etc.) on batch level

Capability:If applicable, in PPAP submission Cpk according to QAP, Quality Assurance Process.

2.3Inspection Characteristics

Symbol:

The requirement is written inside the symbol.

Manufacturing monitoring and verification requirements:

Manufacturing:First & last piece inspection or sampling inspection or similar.

Control:Check that the achieved result is valid - no documentation required.

Capability:No.

3Documentation Requirements

Result records are documents that give an account of the results at manufacturing, testing and inspection.

Examples:

  • Alterations in the manufacturing process such as tool changes, etc.
  • Results of tests and inspections
  • Marking of limits between parts and/or lots.
  • Reports and investigations on nonconformities
  • Certificate of material
  • Certificate of heat treatment
  • Certificate of surface treatment

The result records have to be filed for at least fifteen (15) years from date of manufacture.

Results records linked to the date of manufacture shall be available, and the limits between parts and/or lots shall be marked.

Test and inspection results for property with documentation requirements shall always be recorded.

All documentation shall be maintained and be possible to reproduce.

When required, it shall be placed at Husqvarna’s disposal.

Upon request, the supplier shall place the documents at Husqvarna’s disposal within 14 days.

If a supplier ceases to deliver goods to Husqvarna Group, he shall submit Husqvarna Group the documents that concern previously delivered parts subject to documentation requirements.

The documents shall be stored in such a way that they are not lost or damaged.

4Historical information

This routine for special characteristics replaces the Swedish routines:

  • R0340Documentation Requirement
  • R0341 Classification requirement
  • PPAP requirements on drawing.

The old routines are still valid for old documents when there is a reference to it.

The symbols in the old routines can be compared with the special characteristics.

This routine also replaces other local sites routine handling this subject.
