Jordan Knighton

Jordan Knighton has over 30 years experience in architecture and construction and is a specialist in design involving planning, programming, design, production and construction administration for educational facilities ranging from primary and secondary schools to colleges and universities.

Jordan has a passion for creative learning environments that encourage exploration of the world utilizing an individual’s unique multiple intelligences. His interest and experience in sustainable design has spanned his career and helped promote his development in unique planning processes including his SIP (Sustainable Initiatives Plan) and Schools as Centers of Community.

Jordan has an extensive background in educational campus master plans and facility design. His vision and designs have achieved numerous awards of excellence for educational architecture throughout California. As a partner with NTD Architecture, Jordan manages an educational design studio collaborating across the state in support of sustainable learning environments that cultivate vision and connection to each community’s unique sense of place.

Founded in 1953, NTD Architecture is an award-winning design firm operating out of seven offices across the West. The firm specializes in architecture for education facilities and providing integrated and sustainable project design services. NTD’s 56-year history has lead to over 2000 school facilities in California with statewide recognition as a leader and visionary in educational architecture.

Carol A. Leighty

Carol A. Leighty, E.d.D. has served as Superintendent of the TemeculaValleyUnifiedSchool District since March 2006. She has worked in public education for over thirty years. Dr. Leighty holds a Doctorate of Education in Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts as well as a Bachelor of Arts from San DiegoStateUniversity. She also holds administrative, elementary and special education credentials.

Prior to coming to TVUSD, Dr. Leighty served as Superintendent of the Redondo Beach Unified School District from 2004-2005 and as Superintendent of Lakeside Union School District from 1998-2004. While at Lakeside Union, she provided a vision and plan for improvement of instruction and raising test scores. She also implemented Differentiated Instruction and professional development in the Literacy and English Language Learner curriculum.

Dr. Leighty also has experience in higher education, having been an Adjunct Professor at CaliforniaStateUniversity, San Marcos, San DiegoStateUniversity and PointLomaNazareneUniversity in the School of Education.
