IRMO is a community-led organisation that provides Latin Americans migrants with tools and information in an empowering process to build fulfilled, independent and integrated lives in the UK using a rights-based approach.
We do this through a flexible and comprehensive approach addressing needs in four main areas: a) Education, training and employment; b) Advice and case-work; c) Wellbeing; d) Campaigning for the rights of all migrant communities.

About the role
As event supporter you will help the project manager to define, coordinate and deliver bi-monthly cultural and social events to help develop new friendships among the youth volunteers, and increase awareness of and celebrate other cultures.
Next Generation project works with young volunteers (15-20 years old) that participate in different roles in IRMO and partner organisations to engage and support, mainly but not exclusively, migrants from the Latin American community. Through volunteering, young people develop new skills, gain experience and increase confidence. In addition, volunteers can participate in bimonthly cultural trips and mentoring sessions to learn about education and career opportunities.
Main Tasks and Activities
-Help defining safe and engaging cultural activities for young volunteers;
-Support in the co-ordination of cultural events for volunteers;
-Participate actively during the events assisting volunteers;
-Help in the promotion of events, making use of social media;
-Assist compile feedback from event participants and analyze responses;
Who are we looking for
-A flexible and enthusiastic individual, who is confident in working in a multicultural and multilingual environment;
-Good time management and organisational skills;
-Good interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail;
-Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and with a diverse population of service users, staff and external visitors;
-Ability to set own work priorities, take initiative and work with little supervision;
-Committed to the principles of equal opportunity in the workplace;
-IT skills, fluency in Spanish or Portuguese and English.
