Dear friends,
As usual, I am very happy to be writing to you again. First of all I want to thank you for the cards you sent us for Christmas. We all do, but especially myself, appreciate receiving them.
Because I can't help but think of you all often, you can be sure that you are very much in my prayers every day, unless I'm having a bad day, which is very seldom. There must be a band of angels looking after us all, for everything seems to go just as well as we arranged they would, when we created our plan many moons ago.
I often tell you in my talks, how God decided to take us all back to Himself, wipe out our minds and our memories and then, the universe would continue as if we, as souls, had never existed. In olden times we had reached a very low level of thinking and because it was all inside ourselves we couldn't see from where we were that there might be a better world than the one we created for ourselves. When I had my first Kirlian photograph taken, the man who explained it to me said that my mind was a mess. At that point I explained to him that I was happy with it so there was no problem? Some months later, Anne Puryear told me the same thing, and because I liked her I thought I'd better ask her what I could do about the mess. She told me that I should join a study group. Five months after joining, I had my Kirlian photograph taken again and found that my mental processes were just about perfect: and at a conscious level I hadn't noticed any change at all to my way of thinking. It was that second Kirlian photograph that pushed me into changing my whole life.
The human race realised, a long time ago, what God's intentions were, so we decided to give our journey one more try. We had made so many plans in the past, but too many of us wanted to go our own way, to follow the soul who would take us as far away from goodness as it was possible to be taken. We seemed to enjoy the negative road as many of us still do. You can see us drunk on Saturday nights and you can read the negative stories that describe us at our worst as they are told in the news reports and in the newspapers. Too many of us were following this road: we loved controlling others, exercising power in areas of life in which we were trespassing and by doing this we led many others astray. If they didn't join us they became isolated, so only the few would have the courage to stand up to us.
To rescue the situation, we came up with a plan. The plan was the best we could think of, for it included two plans. Were we to continue on the road we were on 22,000 years ago, when the final plan was made, then we would have great sufferings to go through. Through this suffering in our physical bodies, we would eventually come to terms with our own selves and realise that there is more to life that what is very obvious. Eventually, through enough suffering, we would turn over a new leaf. The people who poison the water we drink today and the foods we eat are very much a part of the plan: but we can't see it that way. They wouldn't deliberately harm their own families and relations but they do, without really realising how much harm they are doing, as they build up their fabulous bank balances.
"On that day, men shall come forth in sundry bodies that they may be shown their works. So, he who has done an atom's weight of good shall see it. And he who has done an atom's weight of evil shall see it." Mohammed: Quran XC1X (AD: 620-630.)
The second part of the plan involves all of us being as caring as we possibly can be for others. We then do the listening process: listening inside our own selves for all our answers and I mean "all". We then follow the guidance we get. It is such a simple and easy road to follow. Were we able to get all of mankind to follow it, the system would work, but right now, doing it seems to be beyond our abilities. Were we to succeed in the right way, we would give the Earth under our feet, the ability to use its own healing powers and by doing so, it would heal itself. We all agree now, that newly created particles have minds, but we imply that this mind leaves the particle as soon as it becomes matter. That's impossible and the Earth can heal itself when we, by our right thinking, tell it. This was why we set up the solar system the way we did. We wanted to make sure we could follow the better option.
The nice part of the plan is that those who felt sure they could make it, all agreed to stay with those they feared would fail. They saw them to be their brothers and sisters and they wanted to leave memories with them, memories that would live on, even after they themselves died.
In my world, the over-all plan was a great plan. Had we been able to live by the second part I mention above, the process would have evolved in a very harmonious way... but that's life. I think we'll have to settle for second best. "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves:" Cassius in Julius Caesar: Shakespeare.
I want to thank all of you for the help you continue to give the centre. Because of you, I'll be able to go to Spain this month to give talks there and hopefully, one on radio for all the English speaking people in Spain. In early March I'll be in Budapest and I think I'll get a few words on TV there as well as give some talks. After that I hope I'll get to The Lebanon to give some talks there. They've already asked me to come, so I'll fix that. People there get our newsletter: but it's thanks a million to you all for your great support.
I sincerely hope you all have a happy Easter. With every good wish and much love from us all in Durham: sincerely,
John Walsh.

ASSIGNMENTS
Choose one and do it for a week. Pick a new one each week. When you've done the first 9 you are attracted to, you can repeat the same ones over and over again. At every opportunity, listen to the still small voice inside yourself. You'll hear nothing, but if you do this, when you need to give others answers that will help them in life, you'll be able to give the right ones.
1. I will ask myself all of this week why I am following the road I am on. Should adjustments be required I will seriously consider making them.
2. I will work with the archangel Michael all of this week. As the week progresses I will consider the role that angels can play in our lives.
3. I will accept all that is sent to me this week, knowing that it has been sent for a purpose.
4. I will treat others in the same way that I would like them to treat me.
5. Be patient, be kind, and don't speak unkindly of anyone.
6. I will be as unselfish as possible this week.
7. I will try to see love and peace around everyone in my life.
8. When I need an answer I will look for it deep inside myself.
9. I will try my best to be as Christlike as possible this week.
10. I will try to be as intuitive as I possibly can be this week.
11. I will choose an assignment that I don't like doing, this week.
12. Every time I think of God this week, I will thank Him for having brought me into creation.
13. Whenever a troublesome experience comes my way, I will stop my old way of thinking and just listen to the God mind inside my own self and say thank you.
14. I will find no fault, or condemn, or hold a grudge against anyone this week.
15. Ask the Christ to direct me in all the major decisions I have to make this week.
16. Choose an assignment that you think you would like to do on a regular basis but especially when you forget what your chosen assignment was for any week. Make it one that's easy to remember.
17.I will try to make my body a channel through which God can work.
18. I will choose an assignment I really do enjoy this week.
Keep in mind that when you do your listening you only need to listen for 5 seconds at any one time. The secret is to do this often because as the readings say: you make a living relationship with the Father. To achieve the latter goal, one needs to do an assignment as well. The assignments need to be changed regularly. Jesus said that the two parts are necessary. When I had the children in school doing assignments and listening for a few seconds now and then during the day, all fighting in the school stopped.
Being in that school was like being in heaven though well I knew it was in Lambeth.
IDEALS are often the end product of loving in a sensible way.
If one day you feel like crying, ring me. I don't promise I'll make you laugh but I can cry with you!
If one day you want to run away, don't be afraid to give me a ring. I don't promise to ask you to stop, but I can run with you.
If one day you don't want to listen to anybody, ring me, and I promise to be very quiet!
And if one day you ring and there's no answer, come fast to see me, perhaps I may need you.
James Randi has just arrived at the Pearly Gates. He sees the Archangel Michael standing there, blocking his way. Randi looks up and shouts:
"Hey, Michael, you're no more than a glorified doorman. You just let me in and I'll prove to you there's no God."
"Come in Randi, but don't ask me who that guy over there is, the one with the guillotine. He's been waiting for you: guess what?"
Thanks to Allan Wilkinson for sending in this one.
MANCHAN'S WISH
Taken from Nora's Christmas card. 16th century Irish manuscript, but first recorded in the 10th century: translated by Jim Fitzpatrick in 1993
I wish Oh son of the living God,
For a hidden hut in the wilderness
That it may be my dwelling.
A blue-grey shallow well beside it;
A clear pool for washing away my sins;
A beautiful wood close by: around it on every side;
To nourish the many-voiced birds: to shelter and hide them.

A vision of the Master as might be put on canvas if the entity were to attempt to do so and be entirely different from all these that have been depicted of the face, the body, the eyes, the cut of the chin and the lack entirely of the Jewish Aryan profile. For these were clear, clean, ruddy, hair almost like that of David, a golden brown, yellow red, but blue eyes which were piercing; and the beard, not cut, but kept in the proportion at the contour of the face, and the head almost perfect. 5354-001
Every man should have a wife because eventually something will go wrong that he can't blame on the government.
"The trial, that was not with the pangs of pain, as oft indicated but rather glorying in the opportunity of taking upon self that which would right man's relationship to the Father, in that man, through his free will, had brought sin into the activities of the children of God. Here, His Son was bringing redemption through the shedding of blood that they might be free." 5749-10
The Peace Pilgrim says: "This is the way of peace - overcome evil with good, and falsehood with truth, and hatred with love. My pilgrimage covers the entire peace picture: peace among nations, peace among groups, peace within our environment, peace among individuals and the very, very important inner peace - which I talk about most often because that is where peace begins.
