Staff Engagement Survey Workgroup

The Staff Engagement Survey Workgroup, which is comprised of representatives from the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Council (CSAC), Staff Assembly, Professional Women’s Association (PWA), UC Administrative Management Professionals (UC AMP) and Human Resources, gave a presentation at the Administrative Services Fall Town Hall. The presentation updated the campus on everything the workgroup has done so far, what they are working on right now, and a sneak peek at the 2017 survey results. The workgroup will continue to meet regularly to decide what we will focus on moving forward and we plan to present a deeper look into our 2017 survey resultsat the next town hall.

Healthy Campus Network Initiatives

UC Santa Barbara’s Healthy Campus Network (HCN) has sponsored multiple staff initiatives in 2017-2018. These initiatives include the short-term goals organized by the HCN subcommittees and other campus projects. The HCN subcommittees are currently working on their short-term goals, which are to be completed by June 2018. For example, the Financial Health Sub-committee is working with Human Resources to promote the services offered by Fidelity and increase their utilization. The HCN Steering Committee has also funded multiple campus projects including expanding theFood, Nutrition, and Basic Skills workshops to staff, relaunching the Fit Squad program which encourages staff to take regular breaks, and hiring a student intern to research how our campus can reduce staff food insecurity.
