Math Games

Contig -

Contig has been played for years on the Contig game board with dice. Contig Online® is a mathematical software package conceived by a retired K-12 Mathematics Department Head/Teacher and a Mathematics/Computer Science Teacher. Contig Online® can be played individually against the computer (Single Player Mode), by two people at the same computer (Two Player Mode), or in the case of Contig Online® - School Edition, the whole room can play along (Classroom Mode). Also, a Warm-up Mode is available in both Home and School Editions, which players can use to practice and hone their skills.

Equate

Players form equations by placing tiles on the board in crossword-puzzle style. Division earns more points than addition, as do two-digit numbers and fractions. For 2 to 4 players in grades 3 and up. Equate Advanced Tile Set is a set of 197 tiles includes integers, exponents, fractions, operations, and equal symbols to play Equate at higher levels.

4 Way Countdown

Take the ultimate math challenge. Kids can practice their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills by simply using the numbers on the dice. The first to flip over all 10 numbered keys wins the game. Game board includes sliding cover for easy storage. 2-4 players.

Math Dice

Introducing flexible, competitive math game. Play is easy - roll the dice to generate a Target Number and three Scoring Numbers. Arrange the Scoring Numbers into combinations of operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or even powers to create an equation whose result is closest to, or equal to the Target Number.

Smath

Student gain an understanding of basic arithmetic operations and exercise problem-solving skills by cleverly forming mathematical equations in crossword-puzzle style. Equations must be complete and correct in all directions. Whole numbers, with all operations, and parentheses are used grades 1-12.

Blokus

The original game, for 2 to 4 players, is comprised of a square board containing 400 squares, and 84 pieces made up of small squares. Each player places his/her pieces on the board in turn, with the purpose of placing a maximum number of pieces on the board. Essential constraint: the pieces of the same color must touch each other by one or more angles, but must never touch along the sides. You therefore need to use strategy and anticipation to extend your own territory while at the same time blocking your opponents. Each piece is different and each move can be decisive! Set

Build logical-thinking skills with this popular attribute-based game. In fast-paced action, students find sets of 3 cards that share similar attributes or that all have unique attributes. Students will quickly find patterns, develop shortcuts, and create systems to be the first to find a set. Includes 81 cards. Grades 1 and up.

Bananagrams

The Anagram game that will drive you bananas. The award-winning word game that needs no pencil, paper, or board. Fast and fun. Players race against each other to build crossword grids and use all their letter tiles first. Great for travel.

Boggle

Shake the letter dice, flip the 3-minute sand timer and put together as many words as you can. Boggle, a Parker Brothers classic, is as fun as it is great for improving spelling skills. For 2 or more players, ages 8 to adult.

Scrabble

Word-forming board game build vocabulary and fun for the family. Score as many points as you can by forming words from the letters on the tiles. Bonus squares on the board give double or triple letter word points. Many different versions of Scrabble have been developed and many technology based.

Apple to Apples

Great game - it involves quick thinking, humor, and strategy. For teens, the game teaches them to think about how different things can be compared to one another and how analogies are formed. The name of the game is a play on the phrase "apples to oranges," and the game is about making comparisons between different things.

Scattegories

Right off the top of your head, can you name a sport, an ice cream flavor, and something in a pet shop, all beginning with the letter B? The trick is to take on 12 categories in 3 minutes or less and not match anyone else's answers. So be creative and see how you can build vocabulary and thinking in a fun way.

Cranium

Cranium Classic has long been known for its goofy, unpredictable activities, challenging even the most well-rounded players to step up their game. Many versions of Cranium are available for all ages. This latest version includes 600 updated playing cards--making the adventures all-new again--and the bonus Family Pack is a shoe-in for family-only game nights.
