AUTOMATION OF TOLL GATE AND UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLE DETECTION

ABSTRACT:

The main aim of this project is to atomize the toll tax system and stop the unauthorized vehicles at the toll gates not allowing them to cross the city. The system consists of modules such as RFID reader, GSM modem, LCD, gate controlling unit and buzzer.

Toll gates will be arranged at the city outskirts. Whenever the user vehicle wants to cross the city, he has to pay the toll tax and then he is permitted to move forward. To do this, first of all his vehicle should be an authorized one to cross the city. When he enters on the highway road and has to cross the tollgate, the user has to show his RFID card at the reader fixed beside the gate. The system then reads the card’s details and sends it to the server. This server may be located anywhere in the city to which this user belongs to. Then the server checks the card’s details and if the card is already a registered one, then it sends an acknowledge with the permission to allow the user vehicle to cross the city. The communication between the system at the toll gate and the server is carried out through GSM.

Secondly, if the user has committed any sinful act and trying to escape from the city and if any public servant notices this, he can immediately send a message to the system fixed to the toll gate. At the toll gate, if this person reaches and shows his RFID tag at the reader, the system reads the tag but does not allow the vehicle to cross the city even his vehicle is an authorized one. Thus, the system completely restricts the unauthorized vehicles to cross the city. Buzzer indication is provided when the user vehicle is proved to be an unauthorized one. LCD is used to display the related messages.
