Able and Talented students in Art
Provision within Art and enrichment offered
· KS3 Art Extension Group for Able and Talented artists. This club offers the opportunity to create art work for public exhibitions and to create public art work. The students are also introduced to a number of processes (such as print-making) not normally offered at KS3.
· At KS4 & 5 there are opportunities to participate in after school life drawing lessons (held in conjunction with Weston College), and to attend extra-curricular trips, such as to London, to view art work in context.
· We use differentiated resources, starred to indicate a difficulty rating (four stars being the most challenging). These are used in lesson so that the Able and Talented learners can make decisions about how much they wish to stretch their learning encouraging independence. These resources include Artist Reference sheets (which can be found in classrooms, and via our three Tumblr pages – links to be found on the school website)
· Opportunities to work with artists and professional practitioners are offered to all, as these opportunities arise.
