ADVANCED PAEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

A vacancy has arisen in the Children’s Unit at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for an Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner at Band 7 level to join our team. At present we have 3 qualified Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Our unit consists of an outpatient department, ambulatory care unit and an acute paediatric ward. We care for children requiring both medical and surgical nursing whilst working closely with the Neonatal Unit, Accident and Emergency department and Theatre Recovery and the tertiary centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow

You will be required to be a qualified Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner with recent experience of working as an APNP. You will be required to work within a multidisciplinary team being accountable for the delivery of specialised episodes of care. Excellent communication skills and multi-disciplinary working are essential

An up to date knowledge of evidence-based practice, and a commitment to learning and the delivery of clinically effective care are vital.

A vacancy has arisen in the Special Care Baby Unit Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for a Band 6 Infant Feeding Nurse/Midwife

We are a Level 3 Neonatal Unit, consisting of 4 ITU, 2 High Dependency and 14 Special Care cots.

At present we have 4 qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in post.

We are a forward thinking unit looking for an individual to join our team

You must possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work within the team as well as on your own initiative.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care and use a holistic approach to family centred care.

An up to date knowledge of evidence based practise and a commitment to the delivery of clinically effective care within neonates is essential.

You will have experience with Infant Feeding and working within a neonatal unit.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLES LEARNING DISABILITY NURSE PRACTITIONER

An exciting Secondment opportunity has arisen within the Community Children’s and Young People’s Learning Disability Nursing Service. We are looking for an individual working at Band 6, with an interest in gaining experience and knowledge in caring for this client group. You will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist (Children and Young People with Learning Disability) providing specialist assessment, care planning, and care evaluation to children with a Learning Disability who require additional support with Mental Illness, Autism, Challenging Behaviour or ADHD. The role will include monitoring of physical health conditions and response to medication regimes and to scope, report on and make recommendations on the future development role of LD nursing specific to Children and Young People.

Children and their families are seen within their own homes and within their local community across Fife.

The hours are from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The secondment will be for 12 months, 1wte, and include opportunity to liaise with other multi-disciplinary team members as well as opportunity to gain community multi-agency experience.

It is essential you should be a RN with current registration in Child Branch/RSCN or LD and have knowledge, skills and experience within Learning Disability.

Training and support will be given to enable you to manage a caseload and acquire the skill and knowledge to work with children and adolescents with a Learning Disability and/or additional conditions, e.g. ASD.

You must be able to travel throughout Fife.
