President Peoples called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the group

in the Pledge of Allegiance after explaining the emergency procedure.

A motion was made by Trustee Crane and seconded by Trustee Mitchell to

approve the agenda. President Peoples stated he would like to add an Executive

Session after item 10.4 for the purpose of discussing tenured candidates. The

motion was then approved as amended.

During the Board reports Trustee Terwilliger stated that the play “Wedding

Singer” was well attended as well as the Harlem Wizards which the 7th grade class

set up as a fundraiser.

No one wished to be recognized during the Public Forum.

At this time, Mr. Howe showed a video that the Administrators had put together

explaining the district’s status of a Focus District and then thanking the staff for their

continued efforts in helping our students to improve their assessment scores and thereby

removing the district from a Focus designation. The Board complimented the

Administrators for the nice job on the video and recognizing the staff and students.

Superintendent DioGuardi then reported that he had attended a Digital

Conversion Symposium in Rochester February 24-25, 2016. Guest Speaker was Dr.

Mark Edwards, Superintendent of Mooresville Graded School District in North

Carolina. Dr. Edwards is also the chief architect of the digital conversion which

transformed that district by technology integration used for instruction. This will also

improve student achievement and performance thru technology. Mr. DioGuardi

stated that he would like to move forward this and said 6 people will go to the

Mooresville School District this summer to learn more about it.

Trustees Terwilliger and Crane both stated they were in support of going to this

but need not to lose our focus on what we are doing now. This will take a few years to get

it implemented. Mr. DioGuardi stated that he had already had some conversations on

this already.

The next item for discussion was naming the “old” gym. It was suggested that a

Committee be set up for this and/or communicate with the public to weigh in on it.

At this time, Business Administrator Ken Forrester reviewed the proposed

2016-17 school budget. He briefly explained each expense category as well as the

Revenuesand at the conclusion stated the proposed budget to be $28,809,630

and with no tax increase to the taxpayers again this year. The Board had a few

questions and then thanked him for the report.

Motion by Trustee Mitchell and seconded by Trustee Herrington. The Board of

Education of the Addison Central School District, upon the recommendation of the

Superintendent of Schools, does accept the following Consensus items in accordance

with the rules and regulations of the Board: Minutes of March 8, 2016; Budget and

Revenue Status Reports for February, 2016; Central Treasurer’s Report of February, 2016;

CSE Minutes of February 23, March 1, March 8 and March 15, 2016; CPSE Minutes

of March 16, 2016; and District Treasurer’s Report of February, 2016.
