Dear Staff:
We are pleased to let you know that we have received a gift in your honor through our Halos for Heroes program. This donation will benefit the patient financial assistanceprogram and was received fromMs. Pam Miller.
Notes to Hero: “This Halos for Heroes tribute goes to the entire staff of the 8th floor at Penrose Main… My husband and I were involved in a car accident on October 4, 2011. My husband did not survive the crash. I suffered quite serious cervical and pelvic injuries, requiring surgery on both. After several days in ICU, and a short stay on the 7th floor, I was transferred to the 8th floor, where I believe my true recovery began. The treatment I received from every health care PA, RN, CNA, PT OT, Chaplain, or administrator – was exemplary and included concern for all phases of my recovery: physical, emotional , and spiritual. My care included a video feed on October 21st that the IT professionals and Chaplain’s office worked together to facilitate so that I could watch, and participate in, my husband’s funeral, which was held in North Platte, Nebraska, with a full military tribute at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
I cannot begin to describe individual accounts of care, as such would take volumes to recount. So I will simply say THANK YOU. I am now in physical therapy at the Penrose Rehabilitation Center, and I truly believe that my recovery was benefited greatly for the care, friendship and fellowship that I received during my stay on the 8th floor. I love you all!
P.S. – Miss Connie and Kathy G. – I am walking now with crutches, and I still intend to apply to the Rehab Buddy program in a few months!!
Upon receipt of this gift, we sent a thank you letter to Ms. Miller. Because of this generosity, your name, Inpatient Rehab Staff, will also be placed on the Wall of Honor located in the main lobby of Penrose Hospital.
We are grateful for this gift in your honor through Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. Hearing a “Thank You” from a patient is more precious to healthcare professionals than any other honor they could receive. May you be blessed with the same comfort, healing and hope your service has provided toothers.
All our best,
